I always throw Captain's challenges. So 10 it is. I chose Zane because reverse alphabet strategy. Haven't talked to anyone besides Yve, Kim and Taj. All were very brief convos. Doesn't matter to me who is captain. Once we have tribes I can get to work on chatting them up. 17 people is too much.

Yeah not looking too good for me. That's what happens when you are MIA during pre-game. Oh well.

DEAR GOD. Just pick a name already. SHEEEEEESH. It's gonna be a struggle to tolerate these people.

I think I made significant progress with Yve. she seemed like having put on the spot and made to choose tribes had made her uneasy. Well, perfect chance for me to swoop in, make her feel a little at ease, some humor. Easy enough to do. Plus from the looks of the group chat she likes to flirt. Basically my ideal ally. I get the feel from this tribe that none of them really did much socializing pre-tribes, much like me. Getting picked last may not be as bad as I thought. I am thinking I am gonna work on Monica and Fairplay next. Fairplay looked like the kind of person who doesn't really like group chats but feels obliged to chime in every once in a while because he has to. Very good. Some one who feels on edge in a social setting makes for a loyal ally. Especially if you can make them feel at ease 1:1. Which I should be able to as long as I put more effort to carry the convo. Not a big fan of that but sigh. Gotta make up for lost time. Monica because she is PST. And it looked like she and Yve had talked with each other a bit. Overlap is always good. Makes forming an allaince that much easier. Lets see how this pans out.

Today didn't go nearly as well as I had hoped. I was really busy at work and I am going to be really busy tomorrow. If we don't pull out this IC win ... :(

Couldn't talk to Fairplay at all. FAIL! Did talk a bit to Monica and Katie though. Seem like nice girls. And a very very short convo with Austin. Though we did do the Part 2 of the IC together. Pretty laid back guy. Still in the "get to know people" phase of he game. I feel like with this particular group, I am gonna have to be the initiator of game talk if I am to have any hope. No one is gonna come to me. I just hope that I am not already too late and someone hasn't beaten me to the punch already.

I am logging in and posting this only to avoid being medevaced. This was the worst possible time for me to join this series. *smacks forehead*

Ok. Here we go. Fighting for my life. This is kinda fun. Swimming up against the current in raging rapid. Its exciting.

Step 1. Get lucky. No seriously. I got really really lucky that I talked to Monica first. I was initially going to try and shift the vote onto Katie. That would have been suicide. Monica not-so-subtly told me that I should target Jonny. Cool. And I got the first "I don't want to vote you but the tribe wants". Check.

Step 2. Hard sells. Now that I know the alternate target, it's just a matter of making a convincing pitch. So what do I have to work with. Jonny shows up to challenges. That's it. He doesn't talk or socialize. He isn't a team player (didn't incorporate people's ideas into the creative challenge ... that we won :x ) And he doesn't put much effort into talking when he does talk (this was a long shot that I threw out there. It actually caught on with Katie :P ) That much should be sufficient for a generic hard sell. Check.

Step 3. Personal touches. With Austin - we worked well together that one time. With Yve - Personal connection on day 1. With Katie - mutual-ish dislike on Jonny's standoffishness. With Monica - offered to give her my mask (don't know why I thought that would work or even be allowed. But it got me an in with her I think). Check.

So I have done all this as of now. There is no real reason for this to actually work. I mean I am pleading my case at the very last minute. But hey. Gotta try something right. If this works though, (: (: (:
