They appear to be forming a herd. If I'm reading it right, baby Aldo is insinuating that the lot of us our sheep. A cynical bastard for his age. I admire that.

The signs seems to indicate that the child endorses RAMSES and Francis as leaders.

I like Francis, he looks to me like a smart guy. Being an investigator by trade will surely help us in finding the solutions to the riddles.
Dain, Percy, Freyja, are all good choices as well.
Morwena and Cronkite strike me as good leaders as well, even if they do not want it.

Have we been told we are splitting into two different groups with either leader being the head of them?

No but that is the general expectation as of now. Why else would there be a need for two leaders.

I don't think so, if there's information about it anywhere it should be in the Phase Update thread, but since we're picking two leaders and not just one, the indication that we're splitting up into two groups is pretty strong. I don't think it's confirmed though, the people we leave behind might even become a group of their own if the fate works our way.

Splitting into two groups does seem like the most plausible explanation since we are selecting two leaders.
Anything could happen however. We should not always take everything at face value. We have to evaluate all possibilities and investigate and discuss all avenues. There are some other possibilities, but those are more unlikely at this point in time and require more assumptions to be made.
But Occam’s Razor and all that.
