I'll be keeping track of any thoughts I have during my voyage on the Dahlia here.

My god, this is already a mess. Some sort of fighter in a blue mask, an injured servicewoman, and a condescending doctor. I'm going to take a guess and say I'll be in my room drinking myself through this flight.

Stubbs is my kind of kid. I'll have to see if he has any other cigars, maybe I'll be able to smoke one with him.

Edom is another guy who I think I'll like. I also figured being nice to the doc is good, because odds are we'll be needing her if shit starts getting rough. Captain O'Hara...god, I'm gonna hate him. I hate his face, I hate his bullshit stories, and I hate his bravado.

Lots of ex-military...that's a bad sign. Whatever took the Dalia down attracted a lot of them, so I'll have to be on my toes.

This is going to be a disaster. Watts has assembled the least capable crew imaginable for a potentially life-threatening mission. Beyond Edom and Stubbs, the hulking mechanical man seems to be the only other guy that's on my speed. I'll do my best to mingle, because having friends when shit hits the fan is always a good idea.

Francis might be a nut, but anyone who provides smokes is okay in my book.

So, I see a clear divide now. The rougher types like myself, Francis, Keisha, and then the nice, squeaky clean bastards like List Guy and Elias.

Felicity and Sam are probably gonna get on my nerves too, but I'll spare them for now.

Takeshi's an honorable man, and sometimes I like honorable men. He's the type of person gambling against is fun, because you can the way he thinks, the way he plays, and ultimately take him for everything he owns.

Normally unchecked optimism annoys me, but I like Percy. She has a certain charm to her. She's a good kid.

I'm happy to see there's a lot of...gruffer folk here. It's not just military body after military body, we have a good amount of guys and girls like me. I've never been a big fan of government officials or Callisto millionaires or a slew of Ganymede soldiers on board. In saying that, we have a very eccentric group, and in the worst way possible. A lot of these people aren't fit for combat, or even work around the ship, they're just here for the voyage. At least people like Lieutenant List and Elias know something. Fishermen, some tribespeople, a ridiculous "explorer", a fucking baby, a...TV star? If whatever took the Dalia is dangerous, then we're doomed. I'm just hoping whatever this "power" is, I can sell it off to some rich warlord or government. Earn a few billion, retire to Callisto. Nah. I'd start up my business again. Get some ships, some guys, make a pirate fleet, or take that Io moonshine and give it a name. Turner's Best. Has a nice ring to it. I'd honestly hate retiring and settling down. It's too boring. Money is just a nice way to fund more exciting pursuits like stealing or owning a factory on a planet. In the asteroid belt, I could buy and set up shop on my own damn asteroid...it just hinges on finding the Dalia and whatever took it, and escaping this bunch. For now, I'll just be my usual charming self and enjoy the people I like and avoid the people I don't like. Drink, smoke, gamble, maybe seduce one of the girls on board. Indulge a little, you know? Hell, I could even publish my journals. The Adventures of Dain Turner. Or Ziggy Maxis. Or...whatever names I went by. That's all for tonight. One little thing goes awry and everyone panics. God, most of these people don't seem to get what a long-distance voyage is like. Accidents happen, things break. You just gotta keep your cool until you know something is fucked, and then it's every man for himself.

After trying and failing to run a Martian Hold 'Em table, I was able to snatch up all of Elias' and Misty's credits, and everyone's buy-in except for Eliza's. Gotta love these idiots. Anyway, I'm enjoying the crew. A lot of weird people, but I've come to like them in the way I like an awkward person. A mixture of pity and some good-heartedness.

I didn't want to be a leader, but it'll get me a suit, and a suit is what I need. I am not dying on this stupid fucking ship.
