But I second what Farlig said.
Don't mix with coke. Do an old fashy or just drink with one big cube. | --------------------

"True" Scotch drinkers will hate me for this, but I like to add a splash of ginger ale to my single malt scotch, just for a touch of sweetness, and a touch of fizz.
And if they do complain, I tell them to go fuck themselves, if I'm paying $10 for a drink in a bar, I'm going to enjoy it.

I prefer malts neat but wouldn't judge anyone for adding a splash of lemonade or ginger to them. I've done so myself, especially if I'm having a few. Drinking loads of straight whisky probably isn't good for you.
Also good call with Glenlivet, forgot about that one

My current bottle is the 15 yr "French Oak Reserve" variety. It's very smooth, and easily sippable. Probably at the higher end of TIB's price range if the sin taxes in Alabama are anything like they are in Arkansas.
When I moved from Arizona to Arkansas, the price of alcohol went up like 50-60%. I could get a good bottle of Glenlivet 12-yr for about $25 in Arizona, and here it's like $42. Guess I should be happy I can buy alcohol at all in this county, as more than half of Arkansas is dry counties.

So quick info on situation
You can't browse the ABC store at the moment. You go in, and have to tell them what you want and they go get it. So it's awkward atm to search for new stuff.
Had already settled on Buffalo Trace and Eagles Rare (hope i got names right). Store didn't have either, so instead of grabbing the list I just asked for a suggestion and ended up with
Bakers 7 year
Which was on Timmah's list at least.
WEnt back today which was truck day, and it will be awhile before we can get Buffalo here. So grabbed a bottle of
Glenfiddich
And then went to a higher priced store. Smaller selection, bigger prices. Buffalo not available there either. So ended up breaking down and grabbing a bottle of
Basil Hayden's
So that's where I am starting. | Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

Buffalo Trace, Weller, Eagle Rare, Blanton's, and Stagg are hard to find anywhere.
The 3 you got are all good!

LOL the last 2 I just got home with. Stopped by a Taco Truck on the way home. So the drink with that is Makers and coke still.
Last night was the first sip of Bakers. Tried it straight warm (dunno if i've got wrong terms) and was ok, takes a minute to get used to that way.
Forgot to say before this i was using Bullitt in my Old Fashioned's. | Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.

Which taco trunk? Home Depot? Shell? Other?
And the term you are looking for is neat. And yes, it takes a little while to get used to but once you get used to it things are so much simpler. It helps to keep you from turning into an ice cube snob.
