Mal you always seem to forgot me too (:
I started watching for mostly the same reasons. LOTR was done, but DM was in it. I always liked Terry O'Quinn too so I figured meh I'll give it a chance. Like someone else said I have not been addicted to a show quite like how Lost got my attention. Sure there are some that I have to watch or start to suffer from withdrawal, but there hasn't been a show since that I discuss online forums, read any and every article I can, rewatch the episodes that week before the next airs etc.
I haven't thought about a rewatch simply because the final season left such a bad taste in my mouth. I still don't even own it, just seasons 1-5. Regardless I still consider it one of my top shows of all time, maybe even #1. | Domo Arigato Paco Roboto

I can't imagine watching this show and waiting for it weekly. I'm glad I watched it consecutively on Netflix

So before mal and I started dating, he loaned me the season DVDs because I didn't have tv at the time and got me hooked.

I introduced the show to my wife after the break in the first season. She only watched it sporadically for the rest of the season but really wasn't hooked until the end of S1. When she started asking me all types of questions I made her watch the whole season from the start. Then we watched it together for the rest of the show's run. | Domo Arigato Paco Roboto

I actually got a lot of people into the show while I was in High School... I was lending out single DVDs of a set to different people in a class and they would swap them around. I'm surprised I didn't lose any of the discs!

The wait and the discussions were part of the fun... but damn, season 1 was a mess with release times. There would be like 2 weeks with episodes, then reruns, then maybe 3 more... it was all over the place.

I didn't watch Lost until the last season and then I power-watched it on netflix and caught up (kinda like I did with 24 & SoA I guess). Jack was meh. I loved Sawyer, Kate and a few people I can't remember the names of. I didn't like the ending.

I actually enjoyed the ending.
I thought it was kinda like the Sopranos where it was more open to interpretation than a classic "heres everything on a silver platter" type ending.
Either way, it was definitely one of my favorite shows when it was on, but to this day i really have no desire to rewatch it
