I first met Dana when I was put over on the NuKi tribe, and I felt like we hit it off almost immediately. I found her very easy to talk to, and never felt like our conversations were anything but natural. Unfortunately, particularly at the beginning, our difference in schedules really affected the amount of time we had to chat.
After the merge, I continued wanting to stay close and work with Dana. Particularly after Gervase was voted out, I really tried to stay as close as I could to her so that we could coordinate on moves in the game.
Looking back now, I know that she had other things going on, but at the time it felt like she was really making an effort to connect with me, which made me want to even more. I think that was her gift in the game. She was able to make you feel like you were the only person that she was close to. It was once she flipped over on the Marisa vote that I realized, "oh, she's got other shit going! How did I not realize this?"
I think that voting her out before she could get to the end was necessary for me, and any of us in the finals, to have a shot at winning. I think that out of the final 5, she had the best chance. Dana is a smart player with a fantastic personality and savvy social game. One of the absolute standouts of the season! I'm happy to have played the game with her!
