Welcome to Survivor Twisted: Ukiyo! Congratulations on being chosen to be a part of our seventh season!

Take a look at the people around you - among them could be your next best friend... or your worst enemy. For better or for worse, these are the 23 people you'll be working alongside and battling against for the title of Sole Survivor over the next month and a half or so.

Without further ado, let's get to our opening twists for the season. Introducing...
























































The mystical floating island of Ukiyo holds many secrets. To the West of the island, a vast and beautiful expanse of uncharted terrain covered in untamed forest and wildflowers awaits you. It is said that lucky travellers to Ukiyo have discovered great treasures amongst the wild landscape of the West.

On the East side of the island stands a merchant's station where items that may help you throughout the course of the game can be bought. The currency accepted at this store isn't what you'd expect, though. In order to buy from the merchant station on Ukiyo, you must earn bounty points.

Bounty points can be earned in four ways during the pre-merge phase of the game:
Assassination -- Each of you will be assigned a target for assassination on your own tribes. If you vote against your target and they are eliminated, you will receive bounty points. If your target is eliminated, but you do not vote against them, you will not receive any bounty points. When your target is killed, their target becomes yours, whether you voted against them or not. You will receive 20 bounty points for your first kill, and each successive target you assassinate will earn you a bonus 20 bounty points on top of that (so your second kill will earn you 40 points, your third will earn you 60, etc.). What will you do when your best friend becomes your target?

Winning tribal immunity -- Each player on a winning tribe will receive 10 bounty points.

Voting correctly -- Each player who votes "correctly" (for the person who ultimately leaves) at a given tribal council will receive 5 bounty points.

In the wilderness of Ukiyo -- Bounty points may be found scattered around the island of Ukiyo.

Bounty points can be transferred to other players by posting in the provided bounty points & items thread in your confessional -- but ONLY if your tribe is not presently attending tribal council.

So, how do you get to Ukiyo? Good question. There are a few ways for you to get yourself a ticket to the floating island. At the beginning of every challenge, each tribe will elect a Shōgun. If your tribe wins the challenge, the Shōgun of your tribe will take a trip to Ukiyo at the beginning of the next round. If your tribe loses the challenge, however, the player voted out at tribal council will select the player who receives the proceeding trip to Ukiyo -- so be careful how you treat the people you send out the door. ;) Nobody is permitted to be the Shōgun of their tribe twice in a row.

For as long as you're in your starting tribes, you'll be part of one of two factions, each consisting of two tribes. One of these factions inhabits the mountains (Ki & Sakai tribes); the other inhabits the coast (Aso & Ozato tribes). Given the distance between the two factions, you are only able to communicate with other players in your faction for the time being.

Info on your first (LIVE) challenge will be posted later today. It will either be Sunday night (which we understand may pose problems for some of you, given that it's Easter) or Monday night. Not all tribe members are required to be there. If people go inactive before the challenge, we won't hesitate to contact a replacement.
