Welcome to your second individual immunity challenge. Tonight, you will take part in The Games of Thrones. This challenge will be a test of social ability, coordination, and game theory. The Games of Thrones will be played in four parts, all of which have specific point values you can earn, leading to a cumulative point total at the end. The two players with the highest scores will win immunity at a crucial point in the game.
This challenge will be completed in your confessional in a thread titled "Immunity Challenge #7." You can post all four parts (and the tie-breaker question) in separate posts,
but you may not edit. Make sure that you indicate clearly which part of the challenge is which. Editing any of your posts in your Official Submission Thread will result in disqualifications, so you are welcome to make a practice thread.
For the first heat of The Games of Thrones, you will have to choose one location from the four that are available below. Post the image (or link of the image) of the location of your choice in your submission thread.
- If you end up in the same location as one other player, you earn one point.
- If you end up in the same location as two other players, you earn two points.
- If you end up in the same location as three other players, you earn three points.
- If you end up in the same location as four or more of the other players, you earn zero points.
- If you end up in a location all by yourself, you earn the maximum of five points.
You may discuss which location you have selected with the others. Deception is strongly encouraged.
For the second heat of The Games of Thrones, you will be handing out coins to your fellow players. You have a total of 500 coins to give out and you must give at least ONE coin to each of the other remaining 8 players. Please make sure that you divide your points up correctly, as if you do not correctly give out exactly 500 coins, you will not be eligible to earn any points for this portion of the challenge.
The closer to the median value you are in coins received, the more points you will receive.
The point values are as followed:
1st - most coins - 1 point
2nd - 2 points
3rd - 2 points
4th - 3 points
5th - 5 points
6th - 3 points
7th - 2 points
8th - 2 points
9th - fewest coins - 1 point
For the third heat of The Games of Thrones, you will list each remaining player in the game and label them as either a friend or a foe. Please list them in alphabetical order.
If you and another player both put each other as a friend, you each receive one point.
If one player puts you as a friend, and you put them as a foe you would receive two points, while the other player would receive zero points.
If both players put each other as a foe, neither player receives any points.
In the final heat of The Games of Thrones, you will be ranking the remaining players from 1 to 9. The order in which you rank the players is the order that they will be picked in the chain. The point values will decrease as the links go on, with the last player (unpicked) receiving no points.
The player that will start the chain is the player with the best average ranking. This player will receive the most points and will be in control of the start of the chain. If there is a tie in average ranking, the tie-breaker will go to the tied player who was ranked #1 more. If that is a tie, it will move to number of #2 rankings, and so on.
Once the player that starts the chain is determined, the first person on their list will be added to the chain. That person will then pick the next person to be added to the chain, which will be the highest unpicked player on their list. This will continue on until every player but one has been picked to join the chain.
For example:
John is selected by the majority to start the chain. The first person on John's list is Alicia, so it's now Alicia's turn to select. John was first on Alicia's list, so the second player on her list, Ty, is selected. It's now Ty's turn to select. This continues on until there is nobody left to be picked.
The point values are as followed:
1st link - 5 points
2nd link - 4 points
3rd & 4th link - 3 points
5th & 6th link - 2 points
7th & 8th link - 1 point
Unpicked - 0 points
How you rank does NOT have anything to do with how much you like a person, but will be determined strategically. You can rank however you'd like...just choose wisely.
Question: How many coins did you receive in Part Two: "Break The Bank?"
All submissions due @ 10PM EDT Thursday. Any questions, please ask.
