Welcome to Survivor Chronicles 16: Game of Thrones.
So what exactly is an online Survivor game? The game is played on this NDIM forum.
You will use AOL Instant Messenger and this board to communicate with your tribemates, participate in challenges, and vote people off. You may also be using Skype to communicate with your players on a more personal level. Each of you get your own private forum (a Confessional), not viewable by other players, where you will write your thoughts and cast your votes.
This game works like Survivor. It's divided into rounds (or episodes), which begin with an Immunity Challenge and end with a Tribal Council. Challenges vary in difficulty and time commitment. Sometimes, we will coordinate a time for everyone to be online at once and we will do a live challenge. For example, in a past game a tribal live challenge consisted of each player finding a piece of a puzzle, which then needed to be assembled to find a message. Otherwise, many 24 hour challenges will take place. You'll have to compete in or complete a challenge that has a strict, 24 hour deadline. For example, in a past game a tribal 24 hour challenge involved coordinating a time with your other tribemates to complete a challenge that involved rapidly posting rhymes or limericks for 30 minutes.
One tribe will lose, and they'll be forced to go to Tribal Council and vote off one of their own. Tribal Councils, too, last 24 hours. The tribes will eventually merge and challenges become individual. The jury begins to form. In the end, they'll vote for a winner.
This game will last approximately six weeks. The amount of time you spend socializing with other players is completely up to you, though we recommend that you at least check the board and log onto AIM daily, even if it's for a very small amount of time.

One last thing - this game will include viewers! They will be commenting on game events in a private forum, much like a Survivor discussion board does with the real tv show. At the end of the game, the Viewers forum will be made public and you'll get to see what people thought about your actions!
