It's crazy how much your perceptions of people change game to game. Like last game, I did not like the way Lindsay played at all but this season I find myself actually wanting to see her make it to the end!

She's been such a big threat since the merge hit and she's managed to keep squeaking by , by being fairly open with her aggressive style of play. If she can divert attention away from her here, or at final 5 onto someone like Eric or Jacob who she can just point out, have no one really out to get them, she might be able to make a run for it with Anthony. I don't think she's going to have the foresight to pull it off, but she's surprised me in this game, and I'm hoping she surprises me again.

On the other hand though, I love Jacob and would hate to see him go because of it (he is the last hope for my fantasy team after all :P). He's really entertaining and has played a great game thus far. I want to see an entertaining finish but not if it costs him the game. I really want to see Jacob pull this off. He'd be a great winner :D

Jacob's already mentioned flipping the game around if Spencer wins immunity again so that would be exciting!

The person I don't understand at this point right now is Eric. Like Aaron said, he's probably done the best job of the people left in the game of positioning himself to win right now with everything he knows, but he seems comfortable continuing to play under the radar. He's gotta know that Jacob is starting to be perceived as a leader, why not take control of the game right now?? In Eric's latest confessional, he says he heard from Kate that the Lindsay thinks the final four is herself/anthony/kate/jacob and instead of using this to his advantage he says now he just can't talk to Anthony and Lindsay as much.. Has he said anything about his actual FTC plans yet??

You can tell Jacob really understands the game where he talks in his confessional about how now this is the point in the game where you gotta start making moves that YOU can own yourself, so you can build a resume of reasons why you should win. He is doing the right thing at this point.

Either there is some SERIOUS Jacob mist going on (which I would love :P) or Eric is just super confident in his friendships with Anthony, Lindsay and Mike and thinks that he'll still get their votes after riding in Jacobs pocket all the way to the end.

The thing is, I'm not even sure Eric would get the Rockefeller vote in the end. All Jacob/Kate would have to do is reveal Eric had betrayed them the entire time, and it would a) piss them off on an emotional level and b) give the credit for everything Eric did all game to Jacob/Kate's manipulation.

Yeah I know, that's why I'm wondering why he would actually want to go to the end with Jacob and Kate?? Has he said who he would actually want in his ideal ftc? I don't think I've read that anywhere.

I'm not really sure, its been confusing me all season. I think he knew one or both of them before the game, because even on Rockefeller all he talked about was how he couldn't wait to join the other tribes and ditch Rockefeller.

Ohhh ya I think you're right. They played in Good vs Evil I think together or something. I remember hearing that.

Still though, how can he think that's his best chance to win?? He should be grabbing someone like Thomas right now and coming clean about everything.

Also, Elise, I 100% agree that Jacob would be a better winner than Lindsay (he's not the only one, even though I think she's been such a huge character this season and a really awesome chick). When I think about it, yeah, it would be entertaining if things changed up and she got to the end... but really, you're right, it wouldn't be as satisfying of an outcome given how sloppy her play has been post-merge. I wouldn't necessarily be mad at that outcome, as again, I think Lindsay is GREAT... but J-Money, man. He's good. He's really good. I'm sure I could turn some people off by how much I talk him up, but WHATEVER. He's fucking good.

Someone could surprise us down the stretch, so I shouldn't be ready to crown Jacob's ass, but I am.

^^^
Couldn't have said it better myself.

lol yeah by no means was I trying to say I want Lindsay to win over Jacob, because she's been careless with her gameplay and doesn't deserve the win in this game but I think Lindsay making it to final 4 or even 3 would make the game a hell of a lot more interesting in these closing rounds.

I was going to say that maybe the reason Eric has no reason in his mind to take Jacob out is because Jacob isn't really perceived as a leader, but he does have some info that should be making him think twice about going to the end with someone like him. He knows Lindsay and Anthony are tight with him, he has to know that Jacob is generally liked by everyone, etc.

This is literally the only thing I can think of. Maybe Jacob isn't seen as that big of a character to the other players. But then I think, how the fuck do you talk to Jacob everyday and not pick up on that :P

Steve @ 5/12/2014 14:31
His current strategy is great to get him to the end, but I don't see it as a winning game unless he cuts Jacob at the end (AND EVEN AT THAT, KATE IS WELL LIKED). Eric isn't disliked, but I haven't heard anyone other than Jacob really excited about him. Again, I think it's painfully obvious that Jacob is charismatic and is a hard beat, but maybe it isn't to them?

My thoughts exactly. He's playing a fantastic 3rd place game at the moment lol I'm really starting to think the Jacob mist is a real thing.

PS, I feel like I thought Elise was going to win last season around this point? But really, that doesn't matter.

Yea I feel like it was around the final 7/6 last season that it was becoming pretty obvious it was Elise's game to lose.

On another note, ANTHONY IS ONTO ERIC <3 <3

Thank you Kate's big mouth for giving me hope of an overthrow again.

Thank goodness for Kate's big mouth. That's twice now she's screwed up simply by talking too much. She also told Eric that her and Jacob were in a four person alliance with Anthony/Lindsay. For the sake of a thrilling finish, please keep those lips a flapping Kate. She's on a good path to get to the ftc right now but I would love to see her get herself hilariously booted for telling someone the wrong thing.
