God I hate this. Everyone is so dull. "Are you excited for the game? It's so overwhelming meeting new people! blah blah blah" Gag me.

I'm not in the business of being a captain, so I totally sandbagged this challenge. I've been talking to people a fair amount, and I've been my lovable, dry, witty self, so I'll get picked early enough I think. Worst case scenario, I think I might miss out on an idol clue by throwing this challenge, but I'll get over it.

Zane and I agreed to give each other a disadvantage. If he wants to trust me this early, that's on him, but quite frankly I think he's ... kind of stupid. He doesn't type well, and maybe that's me over-assuming, but presentation is important and he presents himself ... exactly like you'd expect Zane Knight to.

I really like Kim and Sue. I feel like we could be great bitches together. Austin, Erik, and Sierra seem nice enough, if a little dull. Rory is a total fucking weirdo, which, like, I see the appeal and I can deal with it. Garrett's apparently going to play up being a misogynist douche which is the boringest shtick ever. Yeah, first day doldrums. Once tribes split, there'll be a lot more to go on.

Well just for you Ken, here's a real confessional then:

How about these fucking tribes huh? Remember how I was like "Oh Rory's a weirdo"? Well of course he picks me and saddles me on the super tribe over here! Now I actually have to care about what ALL THREE of these previous players were like on previous seasons. Rory's little whim just gave me a huge amount of homework, and I'm just like ... Yeah I'll do it, but I'm so over it.

This tribe dynamic should be interesting. We've got three returnees and three newbies. That would obviously be the most apparent way to separate everyone's loyalties. But a 3-3 tie at the first vote would just be so boring, don't you think? It's just so hard to read how things are gonna stratify for the time being because, by virtue of having three very successful players and their first picks, everyone on this tribe seems really likable, and there's no obvious man on the bottom that should be in trouble come our first TC. Of course, if I can't see a man on the bottom, that makes me nervous that it's me.

BUT for the time being, I'm just gonna lay low and be fun and friendly. We should be fairly strong in challenges, so I don't anticipate having to worry about being the first boot, and it gives me time to work my way in with ... somebody. God knows who. Maybe I'll try to get Erik to say a racial slur so we can boot him. That'd be way easier than playing the game ...

Well we rocked that challenge. Or rather ... Kelley and me rocked that challenge. I'm glad we were able to show these vets that the newbies can be useful.

And speaking of, Rory came to me yesterday and was all "Caryn, I can tell you're somebody who keeps it real, and I really want to move forward with you as my number two and stuff" and I'm thinking ... I'm totally 100% okay with that. I will ride Rory's coattails exactly as far as Rory is able to drag me. Let Rory do all the heavy strategic lifting, and I'll paint my nails in the backseat until somebody decides to slit his throat, or until I have to do it myself.

In the meantime, I don't have to worry about tribal council for another round, which means I'm free to goof off for another round. What a time to be alive.
