So, you know how first time conversations usually go in games like these, right? "Where are you from?" "What's your favorite Survivor season?" "Love your alias choice!" "Who the fuck is Katie Collins?", etc. Right?

Wrong.

At least, wrong if you're Garrett apparently.

Here is a verbatim representation of our first conversation:

Garrett- You suck.
Katie- Well, you know, there's only so much I can do. We can't all be awesome. Lol.
Garrett- I feel for you.

*dramatic pause*

Garrett- 10/10 would still bang you, though.










Am I dreaming? Or hallucinating or something? Da fuck kinda segue was that?

In terms of other people, though, I'm having a great time getting to know everyone.


Kim is hilarious. I'm a little concerned about her, just because she's a two-time returnee to the series, but I am really enjoying talking with her. We have a shared love of hashtags, so there's that as well. #kpandkc


I'm really enjoying my chats with Erik. He's cute and funny, and he seems like he might not have the greatest grasp on what's going on. Not sure, though. He's not the smoothest player, in that he's straight up asked me things like what my score was on the challenge and what I think about other people, but that could be an interesting advantage.


I adore Yve. She, like me, had been out of the ORG scene for a while before recently coming back. I feel like she and I have a lot in common, and I really like talking to her. She did bring up working together a little bit quickly for my taste, given that we're not even on tribes or anything yet, but otherwise I do like her.


Monica's cool. She says this is her first ORG, so that'll either be good or bad moving forward. Good in that she might be willing to believe a bunch of bullshit or might stay loyal, but bad in that she doesn't know what she's doing and might have word vomit issues. Keeping an eye on this one.


Caryn and Sue are both funny motherfuckers. I enjoyed our conversations, and I think they could be interesting to be on tribes with.


The other two returnees... idk. So far we haven't had long conversations, so I don't know where they stand with me, but like I said above regarding Kim I'm a bit intimidated by the returnees.

I can't wait to figure out who's on my tribe... it would be awesome if I wasn't on a tribe full of people who suck. Like... that would be ideal.

Well, we're on tribes now!!! Despite all the crazy twists and everything, I actually think it worked out pretty well for me.


So I'm not thrilled that Yve picked me first, just because I think that puts a target on our relationship's back. I'm definitely thrilled that she picked me first, though, because I didn't want to be on Garrett's tribe at all. So I'm conflicted.

However, I think Yve picked an awesome tribe to surround us. And she did a good enough job acting stressed and stuff that I bet people chalk that up to feeling like she had to make a quick decision. So I think it's going to work out fine in the long run. Plus I get to have the person I connected with best pre-game on my tribe.


If I had been picking tribes, I would have had to pick Monica. I like her, and she's really sweet, but I get the feeling she thinks we're closer than we are. That's, again, both good and bad, but we can see how it all shakes down moving forward. At least for now, she'll be someone who probably won't vote for me.


I like Austin. Yve asked me who I thought would be a good second pick, and that's definitely Austin. He seems cool, although I haven't talked to him that much, so I'm excited to get to know him better.


I have no idea about these 2. I think Yve was sort of close with Fairplay, so there's that I guess. I have to get to know them a little bit better before I pass my judgment.

Okay, so I may or may not be in an alliance.

I know, I was shocked too.

But anyway, apparently Monica and Austin have both approached Yve telling her that they want to work with her, and my name came up as well. So I think I'm in an alliance with Monica, Austin, and Yve, without me actually having to do anything. What can I say? I'm glad I was so goddamned charming during the first bit of this game!

In other news, someone found our mask for this round. There's no reason why they wouldn't, as apparently it was hidden last night (around 12 hours ago). I swept the board looking for it, just to make sure that no one had found it yet, but alas it was nowhere to be found. So I'm pretty sure someone has 2 masks. Hopefully it's one of those 3 people I mentioned before, so I can hear about it and not be kept in suspense!
