The first round has begun! Very excited for this season

We're gonna start this thread off with a cast assessment that we just wrote up. This cast as a whole is VERY new. We took a lot of risks with this one and I hope it pays off. We have many people who have never played an AIM game, an alias game, or any ORG at all. This has gotta be our least experienced cast ever, which I'm excited for. Risky but fun. We have a lot of people from a lot of different communities

None of the fifteen new players have played in the series before. Also a first time for that, usually we have a few recasts each season who we'd like to see again. This makes the returnee format actually fairly effective. Katie said in her confessional that the vets are meaningless because just about everyone here is an ORG vet anyway, but that's not the case with this cast. Our three vets actually have a whole lot more experience than the majority of this cast, so it's a nice dynamic

ANYWAY! Cast assessment coming up. Thread will stay locked as we post them all up. Let us know who you're rooting for once they're all posted!

"My strategy is going to be awful. That's what it's going to be like."

Name: Derek B

Austin is one of several nice guy heroes in our cast who wants to break free from that. He's a nice guy who admits to lacking in the strategy/cutthroat department, so that's gonna be his biggest hurdle by far. He hasn't played in a game in a long while and doesn't seem to play a whole lot overall, so I'm guessing he's relatively inexperienced. Our advertisement on Sucks is what brought him here.

I think he'll be good socially though, he seems quite likable and I can see a lot of people getting along with him. Gonna be interesting to see if he can shed his heroic nature when the time surely comes. I'm rooting for him to come out of that shell

"I will do things prime time 99 wouldn't think of doing."

Name: babydeja

Zane was the last person to apply... 2 days after the deadline we set. If we had casting done at that point, he would hae been out of luck, but even though his chances were lower being so late, he was well worth making the cut. Zane is the type who likes to push his limits. He likes "impossible moves" and taking large risks. He tends to gravitate to outsiders and liked to call people out and piss them off.

Zane's brand of chaotic gameplay is definitely risky, and if it doesn't go well, it could land him an early seat in prejury, but given the cast we have, and the styles of our returning players, I would be willing to put my money on Zane going far.

Fairplay is remembered for telling the greatest lie in the history of Survivor. I'm remembered for being a virgin. You do the math. (The irony of this being my first ORG is not lost on me.)

Name: Tim W

Very similar to Austin tbh! Erik's an easygoing, younger kid. Very friendly, very easy to like. He's calm and patient which is gonna help him big time, because he plans on using his nice guy persona to really surprise people when he makes bigger moves at the right times (he likened himself to a wolf in sheep's clothing). He claims to be a great listener and wants to do more listening and observing than talking, which is smart. He's already showing great observations kills when it comes to the three returnees.

He found us through Reddit, and this is his first ORG ever. He's new to the forum and how this all works, so he's gonna have to overcome that. Hopefully he realizes how active he has to stay on AIM to keep up with everything. Right now I think he's one of the biggest dark horses for me.

These bitches ain't gonna know what slapped 'em. I'mma make alliances and take control and do godfather things. Yuh.

Name: PapaFranku180

I've wanted a Jonny Fairplay since season one, but not a single person has ever applied for him. Then comes this joker whose go-to character is Fairplay and who emits JFP. We auto-cast him immediately

Very excited to see him play. As Fairplay, he plans on playing exactly how you'd imagine. He wants to be a take no prisoners uber-villain, which is a great combination with some of these heroic players we have. He plans on playing very aggressively very early, which obviously could hurt him, but I hope it doesn't.

Despite that, he's not really a jackass at all. He likened himself to Greg Buis and said most find him to be a good guy once a game is all said and done. But in game, he seems to go balls to the wall. I looked back at an old game where he was Fairplay and he made about a million conflicting alliances incredibly early. It'll either blow up in his face or somehow work out for him. He's done his research on the returnees and past seasons too, which I like. He thinks Rory is amusing. Those two teaming up could be hilarious

Like Katie, he's a fellow host. He hosts Survivor Pure

If I make some stupid, crazy, irrational move that ends up costing me the game it will just be me "playing in character"!!

Name: Hessel

Garrett is a goof. He's relatively new to ORG's and seems to struggle in humorous ways in all of them. According to him, his biggest issue is that he focuses too much on becoming friends with people without actually talking strategy to them, which makes them nervous. He wants to make up for that and be a gamebot in this game. That'll be his biggest challenge

He's foreign and that shows in the way he types. Very different, but very humorous. He keeps calling himself "The Flop Queen" because of how poorly he's done in the past. I hope he's able to do better here because I'd love to see him stick around. It might be a challenge for him to get into a group because of how different he is. I hope I'm wrong though

"I'd describe myself as a Villain, because I tend to prioritize advancing myself in the game over friendships or loyalty or whatever the fuck heroes like."

Name: parvatifromtheisland

Katie seems to fulfill our 'cunt g.oddess' role that we need every season. She's villainous but not needlessly, she just prioritizes her game over her allies' games. Loyalty doesn't really seem to be her forte.

Despite playing as a villain, she doesn't plan on being over the top. She's gonna try to lay low early on and gradually become more dominant around the merge. Until then, she plans on making friends and cutting them later. As Katie, she's gonna be really sassy while appearing as a sweetheart to the rest of the cast.

She hasn't played in ORG in roughly 8-9 years which is great. She's currently the host of Survivor: The Island

"I love getting people to like me. I'm good at getting people to like me. And I'm really good at using people's like of me to get people to do things for me... and making them think it's in their best interest."

Name: Bailey

Vytas is an interesting player. Extremely friendly and charismatic, he's able to get into hearts and minds with his humor, but once he's there, he has a hard time working himself up to betray his new friends. It's a problem that seems to be a running theme for a few people in this cast: the villain who just can't seem to break out of hero's clothing. However, this is one of his very first alias games. I could see him potentially finally breaking free now that everything is behind a character. It'll be interesting to see how he handles it.

Either way, I see Vytas going far. He's friendly, he's charming, he's funny. He doesn't seem likely to come off as a threat, and as long as he doesn't, I doubt people are going to want him gone. And if he learns to let go and go for opportunities when he sees them, I could definitely see him going all the way.

"Fishbach is Cesternino-lite. And you didn't give me Cesternino."

Stephen is someone I'm really interested to watch. I don't know much about the guy, but after looking him up, he seems a bit different from the somewhat dull answers he's given us so far. He seems to have a bit of a gamebot air to him, and he's a big fan of the strategy end of things, but he seems himself as a hero. He tries to stay straight up eith people and act with tact even if he isn't on good terms with someone.

I feel like Stephen may be trying to take himself too seriously here.He seems to do best with an edge of self-depriciation and humor, and I'm not seeing that here yet. With a cast like this full of strange and chaotic people, I think the one aspect he's ignoring is the one he may end up needing. But it's hard to tell. I'm looking forward to seeing more from him, and until I do, I'm not sure I can guess how far he'll end up going.

"I'm a pretty emotional player. Some people seem to be able to personally detach themselves from the game and let their character take over fully; I haven't figured out how to do that yet."

Sierra is a new player. This is her second ORG, so she's still learning and adapting, but she seems to be a very competant player. Sierra is emotional, and tends to get a bit more attached to the other players than most, which makes it harder for her to make moves. She's said she's done some very ugly things to get herself and her allies ahead, though, so she's not completely adverse to getting her hands dirty. While she prefers to work as a footsolider and work hard strategically, but stealthily.

I think Sierra has a fairly good chance of going far. Her biggest obstacle may be her timezone, but that doesn't seem insurmountable. She also says that if she were on the show, she could see herself being confounded by all the weirdos around her. Should be pretty funny to see how she handles people like Rory or Rob. I'm rooting hard for this one.

I'd described myself as "A hero on the streets, but a villain in the sheets"

Name: rj_diggity

I like Caryn a lot, but she might end up being hit or miss for people. She plans on being a big character and playing Caryn very entitled and whiny. Typically in games, she's perceived as the leader of an alliance and gets taken out for it early merge. She's trying hard to change that here and plans on keeping her head down even though it's against her nature, we'll see how well she'll be able to do that.

She describes herself as an anti-hero, which I like a lot. She's very team-oriented on the outside, but a bit snarky in confessionals. She says her humor is sometimes taken the wrong way and people just end up thinking she's an asshole, so she may appear cold or irritable to us at times. She likened herself to Tyson from Tocantins because "he was a dick and had no shot at winning".

"So I guess Monica and I are both self-interested, self-righteous heroes .. which are basically villains to everyone else."

Name: gayrolemodel

Monica is another one of our newer players. She's played a few times in another more casual community, but never anything on this scale. She describes herself as indignant and self-righteous, and she wants to play this strongly in character.

So far she's doing an amazing job in character, but I'm really excited to see how that carries over into her interactions with others. She's definitely interesting but she has the kind of personality that will likely end up clashing with others. Hopefully, that'll happen later in the game, and she'll be around for a long time to entertain us.

"I tend to treat these things as meeting new people/talking to friends, with the game going on in the background."

Once again, new to forum ORG's. Hard to believe though considering her strong first impression so far, but she's played nothing but AIM mini's. Kelley's an incredibly social player whose goal is to get to know every person individually. She values the social aspect of Survivor above all and it shows, she's very friendly and charismatic.

She seems a bit torn on whether she's a hero or villain, claiming villain in her app but hero in her questions. She genuinely enjoys making friends and getting to know people, but she's admittedly snarky and sarcastic and likes taking small jabs at people. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty and says there's no move that is morally off limits for her. She sees this as a game first and foremost. I can see her going quite far.

"To be a comedian you also have to read social clues very well. And that's something I feel I do pretty well."

Yve's gonna be fun. She enjoys playing as "mature, fun loving gals" because that's what she's like IRL. Her aim is to keep things fun and keep everyone laughing. If the mood in the tribe seems tense or negative, she'll be the first to step up and try to change that. Because of this, people tend to mistake her fun-loving spirit for a lack of strategy, but that couldn't be further from the truth. She enjoys being underestimated.

Despite her fun nature, she's not at all afraid to get into a public argument, in fact she seems to like it. She also admits to talking a lot of crap about just about everyone in the game.

A bit nervous for her because of her current AIM situation, but she has plenty of time to get it fixed and get into things. Several players in the past have come back from worse starts, but just as many have had early exits because of them.

"I wanna fuck shit up, but I will probably just fuck myself over. "

name: oeuphonious

Sue is a self-described villian-who-thinks-shes-a-hero. She's loud. She doesn't have much for strategy. She's not a student of the show and her only request was that she be given someone with a dramatic jury speech. She's bad at challenges. All in all, Sue is a trainwreck of a player and knows it. The one thing she has going for her is that she's very social and loves meeting new people and learning about them.

I have no idea how Sue will do, honestly. She's a bit short on words at the moment, and it's hard to tell what she's up to right now. She could be out first, or she might get lucky.
