So that was me during this first Captain's Challenge. Typically it isn't best to be a leader early on in the game, but something came over me and pushed me to try and go for the win. My inner competitiveness shined bright like a diamond. I ended up getting all 60 posts with a few seconds to spare. Someone decided to penalize me, but that didn't matter given the twists you hosts dropped upon us.

When I saw the first part of the twist I wasn't super shocked. I certainly didn't see it coming, that's for sure, but I was confident that Kim would pick me if given the chance. Once she did I was happy because that means she must like me as much as I like her. The real gamechanger was when the three pairs/duos were then all lumped into a tribe together. Thanks for putting me on a tribe with Vern, Curtis. You're the best.

Regardless if I saw this ruse coming or not, I feel like I am in a good spot given the circumstances. I obviously have a good rapport with Kim and she's my #1 at the moment, but I also had good conversation with both Erik and Caryn. I haven't talked to Rob or Rory as much as I would have liked, but that will change now that I can focus on this group of six and not eighteen.

I believe Kim is going to stick with me, and I would have the support of Caryn and Erik as well. Both of them mentioned a fear or paranoia of the three veterans sticking together against us three newbies. So if that's how they want to roll, I can do that. I don't believe it will come to that however, because Erik already tossed up the idea of a Rory boot if we came upon TC. That's fine with me and Kim also expressed affirmation to that plan as well. Apparently his schedule isn't the best and Kim doesn't believe Rory will be around as much as we need him to be. If Rory did go, that would also ease the minds of Erik and Caryn, because the young bloods would have a numbers advantage of 3-2.

Regardless of how tribe dynamics fall, I intend to be on the winning side. I feel good about my standing with these tribemates and hopefully I can work something out that keeps both Kim and I safe.

So we actually worked really well together! He did say fuck at one point which obviously meant he messed something up, but I'm really proud of how quick we got our part done.

Caryn also rocked the puzzle single-handedly which ws super impressive. She finished the entire thing in just a few mins.
