FINAL 10000000000 YO!

As the title to this thread indicates, making it at least to the final 10, and being better than first member on the jury, are personal bests for me. Which is awesome!

I've never done a true endurance challenge before, so when I tried to guess what this one was going to be, I saw "non-live" and thought it would be something with a submission time, or something with room to scheme. But now I get to see how good I am at endurance! I also get to see that people are generally interested in taking a day off when they don't have to scramble. More time for me to plot in that case!

I'm still conflicted about my Hatchel plan. He's probably most interested out of everyone as far as winning immunity, so if he wins, then we're good to go. But if he doesn't, I'm wondering about the utility of doing that. The Survivor Amazon thread has got me thinking, specifically about Deena's downfall when she assumed her alliance was tight enough to be able to switch targets. Come to think of it, the real Leann had the same problem, didn't she? So I'm less and less keen on doing that. I do, however, want to make sure that when the time comes for people to be worried about the Lugata 4 sticking together and flipping sides, I'm insulated from being the target. I think my second banana status is helping out with that. Jamie said that his double dealing to ensure Ciera's exit made sure that a lot of people were going to hate him. When he said this, I was thinking "yeah, but when FTC rolls around, they'll respect that". But now I'm thinking that people will want to take out the leader when the opportunity presents itself, and with One World in play, enough people have been talking that that opportunity WILL present itself. I just have to think of a way to have it happen at the right time: not too early, or my entire alliance goes down too, but not too close to the end, or I will have rode coattails and then backstabbed at the most convenient time.

I thought this was going to be the round we finally got rid of Chatty Hatchy. He knows he's out of commission, which is why he:

a) threw the challenge
b) told everybody about how he threw the challenge so as not to appear desperate
c) told everyone that he has nobody and should not therefore be a target
d) tried to be everyone's friend and talked trash behind everyone's backs

So everything he did this round just dug him into a deeper hole. The only problem, then, is that Laura hasn't been on since Sunday. I'm told she's from Brazil, which puts her on a little bit of a different schedule, but she self voted last round and again this round. Which means that she's leaving the game, and which also means that this Tribal Council round is being skipped, leaving Richard free reign to try to fuck things up again.

I was really looking forward to a combined medevac and vote off, because it would skip right past the round that I was worried would give me the most headaches: The final 9. The perception, which I would say is a plausible one if not necessarily completely true, is that the Lugata four will stick together until the end, leaving Chet and John on the outs once the six reaches completion. If they were going to turn on the four original Lugata, they would both have to take the plunge, and they would both have to do it at the final 9. So this round is going to be one in which I really really try to convince the two of them that the six is really a six and not just a four plus two. Because really, it is a six in my mind.
