This immunity challenge is a must win.

Not for our tribe in particular, but for me.

I'm starting my new job on Saturday, Joe Anglim's going to become the real ice cream man of the game, the Dairy Queen King of Survivor!

This Saturday shift is 5 - midnight

In fact, a lot of my shifts have the potential to be 5 - midnight.

Sausage right now is my outside hobby. I love playing the game of Survivor and in this format that I never thought I'd enjoy, I'm having a blast. It will end sometime, but I don't want my work to be the reason that this game has to end for me. I need to have the opportunity to sit out of live challenges, if not there's a case to say that I'm the weak link.

I understand the importance of tribe strength. I know what I'm capable of, I just need to show my tribe what I'm capable of so that when I'm able to so that the pros outweigh the cons and I'm more valuable to the longevity of other's games than others. At first I thought as soon as I got my job it was the end of the road for me in this game, but I've decided to adapt to the situation and work with it to make it my own.

This challenge required a lot of sheer posting power and organization, and immediately I brought the spreadsheet strategy up again. It worked so well in the first challenge, and we put up big numbers when we scored. My only hope is nobody on our tribe got too buddy-buddy with their dragons to talk about our methods. If they haven't figured out an effective way to keep track of posts, and I don't think there's a better way than a spreadsheet, than this victory is as good as ours. Liz came up with the very effective idea of deleting the cell once you've posted so people could keep track, prep their post, and immediately add reply once they saw that it was their turn to post. Optimization is kickass!

I did that challenge on three hours of sleep in a thirty-six hour span. I was so nervous that I was going to shit the bed and wreck our chances of winning. I tried to push the challenge back to today, but nobody's schedules aligned. So I said fuck it, pulled double duty, and knocked it out of the park both times.

45 posts in 3 approx 3 minutes for Part 2.


Liz also pulled double duty and apparently finished a 96 piece puzzle in 8 minutes. Speaking of Liz, this is probably my favourite part of the whole challenge:

Our tribe works so well together it would suck to see someone go this round. It would especially suck for me because I could be in a tough situation if I don't have the opportunity to sit out next challenge, assuming it's going to be live.

I haven't thought of how I'll be able to handle it come Dragon Challenges, that may just be a type of challenge I can't avoid. If Liz and Woo made it far in a challenge where Liz couldn't compete and Woo had slow internet, I may suggest to Hunter and Caleb to play possum the entire time, and hope to be dragged as far as humanly possible. The good thing about Caleb and Hunter are that they are strong in challenges, and I think they could carry the weight of the team without me.

I thought this game was going to be simple for me. I'm good at challenges, I'm good socially. Now, challenges may possibly be taken away from me due to work. I'm slowly but surely figuring out how to adapt in this game. I'm not going out of this game unless I absolutely have to. The fight to balance work and play begins!

Also last night I watched the Survivor finale with Liz and Ken on three hours of sleep just to hang out with them. Both Ken and Liz fell asleep during and me, somehow on three hours of sleep, got through the entire finale + reunion. I'm a good friend.

The saddest part of the game is Ken didn't come back after watching Survivor and ruined our Nathan For You nightly watching streak.

I don't have much else to contribute to this round. We won the challenge, our method worked again and continue to give us a one-up on Mushu when it comes to organization and posting challenges. Lóng loses another member, which gives me the ability to be a sit-out if necessary.

The real good news is my work called me and decided to start training me on Monday morning instead of evening shifts this weekend, as they expect a high volume of customers! It's like Jesus is looking out for me. This just in, Jesus loves Survivor and Joe Anglim :D.

I've only told Liz about my work and my concerns with it. I figured by hiding it I'm going to delay the inevitable and it doesn't really matter when I reveal that I will likely be shit outta luck for a live challenge.

This is the only thing that had my sweating a little bit this entire game, and she was able to reassure me and calm me down. Liz is a great ally, and a better friend.

If I can avoid missing a live challenge, I will. However, it would be interesting to see me go completely påpãyä in a live challenge and see how the votes fall. If I stayed, it would be a huge credit to my social game. I definitely think that the social aspect of this game has been the strongest for me. I'm in constant unique interesting conversation with the members of my tribe, and I'm enjoying all of the conversations I'm having. I have no regrets by playing such a strong social game, even though it will inevitably be perceived as threatening to one's success. That's okay! I'm having fun, and I'm unapologetic about it. There's a lot of strong players in this game challenge wise, and I still think I'm below average strategically. If I'm going to get far in this game, my social game is my greatest weapon, but also my greatest enemy.
