Melinda's gonna be fun. I think she'll keep things light and carefree while playing up the Melinda persona, something that's already been amusing to me.

Behind that, I know very little about her as a player. She's gonna be very strong in challenges, and like Joe, will probably pay for it down the road. That tends to be an issue for her. She's an emotional player and struggles with stabbing close allies in the back when it's probably necessary. Socially she stumbles if she doesn't put the effort in, something she's struggled with in the past and intends on trying to switch around here. She's got stuff to work on, but if she corrects her past failures and is amusing and lighthearted enough to win some people over, she could do pretty well.

One of our recasts! We came into this season wanting to recast a small handful of previous players who had compelling reasons for wanting to return as someone new. Lillian shot to the top of our list due to her not-so-great luck throughout the series.

Lillian prides herself on being a character player first and foremost, something I've always enjoyed about her. She values character over flashy gameplay and will play uncompromisingly in character when she wants to. As Shambo and Semhar she didn't get a chance to showcase that so much, but I have high hopes for Lillian.

Lillian plans on being very outspoken and vengeful throughout the game. If someone does something that bothers her personally, she will make it her personal mission to get them out as soon as she can. Anyone who unwittingly crosses Lil is gonna feel her wrath and believe her to be a crazy person and I can't wait

Alina painted herself as a flirt throughout much of her app. She's a social player first and foremost, putting emphasis on connecting one on one with every player she can. Someone recently complained that she was hard to talk to in a game and she seems to have taken that to heart, so she's aiming to correct that.

She claims she's a hero, but I think she's got a bit of a catty side at the same time. She's quick to judge and can be a little icy, but not necessarily in a bad way. She claims she doesn't take crap from others and often speaks her mind. I believe it.

Jaison is a huge hero type, possibly the biggest in the cast. He's incredibly loyal/honest and really does not like lying to his fellow players. However, he says being a hero gets old and that he'd love to take a villainous turn here. I can't see it coming from him based on what I've seen so far, but I think it'd be fantastic to watch.

Definitely comes across as very intelligent, something I expect others to pick up on which should make him a bit of a threat. He described himself as neurotic, emotional, and paranoid, and really values one tight ally who can keep him grounded and calm throughout.

He says he's great at knowing when to sit back and relax vs. when to be aggressive and strike. Jaison, again like Hope and Jaclyn, loves connecting with people and playing these games to make friends. Just compare Jaison and Hope's quotes above.

This man is such an enigma to me. He's one of the stranger people in this cast without a doubt.

Kenny is "Licker", famed host of survivor licker: chandler bing island or some weird shit like that. I can't tell if this guy is just playing a character and being a goof or if he's just extremely weird. Maybe both!

He's very funny though, I get a kick out of him. The way he speaks and the strange things he says are very amusing to me. He says he sucks strategically and at challenges, but seems to get people to like him socially. He's playing as Kenny because he relates to his underdog to villain arc, something that he often emulates himself which I could not be more excited for if it plays out. He's very polarizing and I expect him to have most people divided on him, players and PW's alike.

Jeremiah seems to be a very relaxed, chill guy. His social skills are his strong suit and it shows, he comes across as very calm, well spoken, and won't be making any erratic moves anytime soon. As Jeremiah, he's gonna dumb himself down by using the Southern charm and plans on being flirty to win people over.

He's a heroic type and says he's known to bring a pretty positive vibe to different situations, but he says he may wanna change that here. Being a hero has only gotten him so far, so he wants to try to tiptoe into villain territory. I have no idea if he has it in him, but I expect to see him give it a shot.

Jenna's app focused on one thing primarily: her scrappy gameplay. She seems to be a fighter who's fueled when backed into a corner, which is a type of player that I typically enjoy a lot. I'd love to see if she lives up to it and impresses us with some hustling.

One thing I really like about Jenna coming in is that she gave a list of her usual flaws that she intends on working on here. Be more subtle with relationships, be more cutthroat, don't be so emotional, etc. Watching her try to improve on some of these things or fall into the same issues again should be fun.

She's yet another person who wants to shed her heroic coat and be a bit more villainous. She wanted to play Jenn Lyon as an aggressive backstabber. Basically won me over right there.

"I know in most past games that I play I tend to be considered the nice guy who people "like" but also recognize can be a threat and should probably be taken out. Luckily the "niceness" usually buys me some time to stay in the game."

Hunter compared himself most to Gabe Cade - a man after Host Brett's heart clearly.

He comes across as very level headed to me. Not BORING, but definitely a middle of the road relaxed kinda guy. These can be great attributes to have in ORGs and he seems to have had success channeling them into effective strategies.

Hunter's described himself multiple times as the nice, inoffensive guy. He seems to really love when people consider him likable, so a lot of his efforts goes towards making that happen. He's a triple threat to me and stands a great chance of making it far.

Hope seems incredibly nice. She's yet another person this season who heavily focuses on strong social bonds and friendships over flashy/strategic/cutthroat gameplay. She seems to really love meeting and connecting with new people and likes to use that to help keep her safe.

Hope's brand new to watching Survivor and sees the pros and cons of being a newbie. She's often fascinated by the intense strategy and knowledge shown by her allies and wishes she could get to that level, but also feels having no knowledge of the show gives her a clearer head and helps her stay grounded. To me she kinda feels like a contestant who could've been on Borneo, focusing almost exclusively on connections and not fully connected to the heavy strategizing yet.

Natalie puts strategy heavily first, something refreshing after going through many of these social heroic players. I think she's a villain without a doubt. She gets a bit stir crazy and is always willing to flip things around to change up the game.

She'll lay low at first, but I expect her to come out strong at some point and play pretty hard. She's restless and impatient, something that can lead her to making impulsive and not so wise decisions. She's painted herself as a kingpin and master manipulator, but she's gotta have a handle on her patience and try to keep a cooler head if she's gonna slip into that role successfully.

Nick is gonna be a great Nick.

He seems to be a total gamebot. Sees the game like chess and is always planning his moves far in advance. He's villainous, strategic, and arrogant at times and seems to cut emotions straight out of the equation.

Of course, his social game suffers because of this. His gamebot approach can turn people off and he tends to have a hard time making strong social connections with people. He believes heroes can never win ORGs so he doesn't plan on switching his strategy up in that regard anytime soon.

Nick is a cut and dry strategist it seems to me. Always in his own head, passionate about the game and always thinking about ways to advance himself far down the line.

Rita is someone who often seems to find herself in an underdog/rootable position. More often than not, the numbers seem to stack against her and she's forced to be scrappy and fight her way as far as she can. She says she wants to work on her social skills because a member of her alliance always flips, putting her in the minority around the merge.

She likens herself to Todd during the pre-merge phase, often slipping into an alliance and coming on strong strategically. In the second half of the game, however, she says things crumble very quickly for her and forces her into a compromised position.

Rita tries to cut emotion out of the equation and play as logical of a game as she can. She's typically a hero, but she's not afraid to hurt some feelings and be aggressively vocal when needed if that's what it takes.

"I am MASTERFUL at rubbing people the wrong way, at making opportunistic moves, seeing the game 3 rounds ahead, at jumping ship at just the right time to set myself up while completely sinking the game for others who thought they could trust me. There is no way around it, I am an ORG VILLAIN."

I think I'm gonna love Woo, I have a great feeling about him. I think he's very fun, very driven, and shows a lot of passion for the game.

Despite his quote, Woo wants to shed his villainous persona and try his hand at being a hero. He doesn't seem to like being hated too much, and yet that's how he ends up in some of his games.

Woo struggles a lot with his competitive nature vs. his emotional side. He says he's a natural leader who likes full control and slips into a godfather mode more often than not. I think his rep choice as Woo will help him tone down the overly controlling aspect of his game and allow him to be a bit more fun and carefree in his sought after hero role. His passion seems almost unrivaled to me and he's incredibly hungry for success here.

Unlike most of this cast, Liz is a typical villain who wants to be a hero. I think she's more than capable of it, I was actually surprised to see she considers herself a villain at all based on her app.

She's very nice and has a fun outlook on the game. She's here to have fun and doesn't like to be the catty person in her confessionals, she'd rather keep it light and wants to be seen and remembered as a nice person. She tends to become a central figure on her initial tribe and it puts a target on her back, so right now she wants to lay low and be more of a second in command type player.

One fun thing about Liz is that she's a teacher. She's gonna use her calm, understanding approach that she applies to her students on her fellow castaways. This should help her understand where they're coming from and what she can do to help them along.

Rachel is someone who is competitive and always looking for the next big challenge. She views the game mostly as a competition, and marks down fellow castaways as competition. This competitive nature is a double edged sword, however. Rachel is great at doing anything she can to further her game, but she's also prone to being cold and distant and doesn't connect to people on an emotional level.

While she likes to lay low at the start, she becomes erratic, ruthless, and a big presence when she's finally in power.

I think Rachel will be very interesting to watch with this cast. A lot of players are very emotionally driven and social butterflies, but Rachel is basically their polar opposite.
