Hey y'all,

Sorry for falling a bit behind on this!

I think I should talk a little bit about how I feel about my tribe before I move on to talk about Week 2.

I already talked about how I felt a good connection to Woo because of his occupation as a landscaper. That's good, honest work for a good, honest person! I eventually did end up telling him my feelings and he reciprocated them and said he'd put out a good word for me with the rest of the tribe as well.

I actually haven't had much of a chance to speak more with him since then but I will definitely do so.

We have Trish on our tribe who seems to be somewhat inactive? No one was really sure if she had done the challenge until results, and I don't think people have seen her since either. Honestly, I'm relieved we have a Trish. It's always nice to have someone the tribe can vote out without having to go crazy. I know it doesn't make for good TV, but I'm sure the viewers would be okay with that since they know it means I will be more comfortable. Thank you!

We have Ozzy, JP, Hope, Hunter, Rachel, and Lil too!

But I'm rambling. I'll fill you in about them and the twist and the idol things hopefully tomorrow.

Until then,

Mel

Okay it's Me, Melinda back for another update as promised!

I'm still talking about Week 1 but I promise to catch up and start on Week 2 today too, especially because I have some exciting news to share in that topic!

Hunter and Hope are people I feel like I've made a decent connection with. They are funny and personable and I wish I would talk to them more (which is a running theme for me, I've been a little like a sleepy hen in that regard) so that I can strengthen those bonds. But they are nice, no complaints with them.

Rachel is great too. She was instrumental in helping our tribe win Immunity. She taught us the "backspace" trick which saved so much more time than the method I came up with. I like her a lot too. It's interesting that she was the last player on the roster to be picked (unless those original results you posted were in some random order), but Woo mentioned that she was basically the Lillian of their Captain Challenge group, going super aggressive right off the bat, so that might be why people were reluctant to pick her.

Speaking of which, what a wonderful opportunity for a transition. Lil! Honestly I was not mad at all about what happened in the Captain Challenge with Lil eliminating me right off the bat. As I said before, I swear I didn't throw it, I was just on my phone and slow on the uptake (and also misread the directions and thought that :46->:48 was fine, when it really needed to be posted on :47). So I'm not mad. I need to make a stronger connection to her as well, because she clearly has been building bonds with the others. She also.. doesn't seem to have a lot of impulse control, maybe? She says/does things that I would be worried about saying because of the awkward vibe it could give off. For instance (and sorry that this is about Week 2), she made a comment in the Group chat yesterday saying something like Trish must have drowned in the well. Which, was kinda funny but I would be mortified if I had said that and Trish had come back and seen it. Woo also makes jokes that are sorta on the edge of awkward, but landscapers aren't known for their tact, so I forgive him.

JP is... Well, I think he's a homosexual, which is totally fine of course. Who doesn't love Tim Gunn?? I believe the Bible should be loosely translated. I know Christian was one of the words I would describe myself as in the interview, but that doesn't mean I'm a stick in the mud! My point mentioning that is that JP's life and personality seems a little more wild than mine, and I'm very worried that we won't have a lot to connect on and that he'll think I'm boring. What's a chicken farmer compared to a queen, you know? But hopefully that's all just in my head.

I really need to work on talking to Ozzy more, we barely have spoken much at all.

Okay next up is Dragon Idol twist!

Should be coming up shortly!

Until next time,

Melinda

Hey everyone,

I'm here to finish up Week 1, sorry again for doing this a bit late (for posterity's sake, this is being posted during the IC2 period of time).

The dragon twist... I'm not sure what to think of it so far! I'm not all that concerned about it. I do like that there is no cross-tribal communication. I like that a lot since I am overwhelmed easily when it comes to being social.

I think my Dragon set is going to lose its first member as soon as Will's tribe loses a challenge. I've never seen him on AIM, he was late to post his idol moves, and his tribe sat him out this round. That's not a good sign.

But I'm also not that concerned about it! I don't love idols so I'm not desperate to get one. Of course I'll try, but it's not pressing to me right now.

I am taking this opportunity to get to know Natalie, though. She is very fun and I like her. She also mentioned something about "who would choose Will Sims as a rep" and that kinda threw me off but I am getting better at just agreeing politely when people say bizarre things like that.

I have a feeling the twist will involve more than just the idol hunt, so keeping a strong bond with her will probably be helpful.

I found a clue to the idol, and it says the idol isn't in the bottom row, which is very helpful because I was going to check the entire bottom row. So now I won't! Thanks, idol clue!

The challenge went well, the two winning teams blew the losing tribe out of the water. Chicken went home which is all well and good for me, there was only room for one chicken farmer in China.

I will see you all in Week 2 shortly! I have exciting news!
