It wouldn't be a very good defense system if it targeted its operators. There are two possibilities as far as I can see. Either a heat seeking missile automatically launches towards the nearest player who is not in this room, or we are given a list of targets to choose from. Keep in mind that as soon as we leave this room, we will be the closest target. I don't like the sound of that.

This is terrifying like fuck. I still don't wanna launch a fuckin missile, but if mean somebody can hit us with that fuckin missile, then...fuck.

Also, can someone explain to me how we found out about the third group? Cuz suddenly them fucks is alive??

Izza just met up with them and said that the other "8" are also alive. They seem to have been separated similarly to how Ice Pack was separated from us, but we're currently short on details.
