Phase 04 - Level B - #2937

Garthon marched triumphantly past the lockers to the South exit. Tapping his metal suit encouragingly, he pushed open the door release and stepped out into a very dimly lit corridor.
The room consisted of two sections, of which he was stood on the East. Sparks of electricity danced around his head excitedly as he felt himself ducking and weaving. The metal suit suddenly felt very exposed.
"What do you see?" Asked Aippaq nervously.
Garthon avoided touching the walls as he approached the middle part of the room. There was a very narrow opening separating the East side from the West side. On the West side there was a hatchet attached to a wall, along with a switch and additional exits. The East side contained other exits as well as a couple of fusion cells laying on the floor.
But over his head, sparks were dancing around from the metal box which had a flashing red warning light. He quickly ducked as another spark shot past him.
At this point it was already too late, the group had gathered and were all frantically dodging as sparks flitted this way and that.
"I'd be willing to bet that switch on the West Side might shut off this power excess." Said Dain thoughtfully.
"Only problem is on wrong side! Hole too small!" Declared Tesimal. There was indeed a gap that somebody could crawl under to get to the switch on the other side, but the roof looked very unstable under the small gap.
"So either we stay and fry, or somebody fearlessly risks their life to go save us all. What a delightful prospect" Said Elias miserably. |

Description:
Long room. Sparks dancing around walls. An opening in the middle with an unstable roof can be crawled through. There are exits on both the West and East side of the opening. A red light is flashing above a box on the East wall. There is a switch on the West wall, unreachable due to the separator. On the east side, there are two fusion cells laying on the ground. On the West side, there's a hatchet attached to the wall. A red shuttle is inactive on the Western side.
Items:
Hatchet (Only available on West Side)
Fusion Cells (x2) (Only available on East Side)
Exits:
North-East (Only available on East Side)
South-East (Only available on East Side)
North-West (Only available on West Side)
South-West (Only available on West Side)
Red Shuttle (Only available on West Side)(Inactive)
Actions:
The electricity in this room is running rampant, and will shock somebody if it isn't switched off. The switch is through a crawl-space that is very unstable. A player may choose to crawl through the crawl-space to reach the West Side of the room and use the switch. If no players opt to do this, the electricity will strike a player at random.
Players (16):
Aippaq
Da Shuang
Dain
Diamente Azul
Elias
Felicity
Freyja
Garthon
Keisha
Matilda
Matthieu
Morwena
RAMSES

Aippaq approached the opening thoughtfully, twiddling his trust pipe around in between his teeth. It was really now or never.
Crouching down on the floor, he steadied himself as the opening loomed above him. Sparks danced around his head.
"Wish me luck." He said nervously before ducking down and crawling across the floor.
It seemed like a much longer distance than it was. As he crawled, the roof began to shake noticeably.
"Have the patience of ox." Said Da Shuang with a silent nod.
"I'm almost there! I can see the...I can see!"
There was a flash of electricity as a spark caught the opening of the roof suddenly. With a rumble, the thin material gave way and smashed against the floor.
"Aippaq!" Shouted Dain, rushing over to the fallen rubble.
There was no opening left. This side was completely obscured from the other now.
The group stood by as sparks continued to dance around their heads before they finally subsided.
"Is it over? Nobody went pop?" Said Tesimal excitedly.
"It's over."
The voice was Aippaq's from the other side.
"Are you okay?" asked Diamente.
"Just a few bruises. I've been through worse caves than that in the ice." Said Aippaq with a chuckle.
The group stood and caught their breath for a few moments. RAMSES began to scrape away some of the rubble, but it was wedged fairly tight.
"I would say the opening is stuck shut now..." He said uncomfortably.
The one side of the room stood in silence as Aippaq did, reflecting on the current situation.
Aippaq is alone on the West side of the room. He is the only player who can access the West exits. The players on the East side can access the East exits. |

We've come across both our first trial and our first fusion cells in the wild. No one has claimed to have picked them up, but Garthon and Tesimal were both around early enough and neither have bothered to comment on them directly one way or another. I don't blame the person that has them for keeping it quiet, and I believe most of the others feel the same way, at least on the surface. I know if I'd been alert I would have walked the RAMSES right over to them and snatched them up myself. Our other task, choosing someone to traverse the unstable tunnel to disable the dancing electricity in our room, seems to be causing a slight bit of dissension to rise out of Felicity. She was one of many volunteers, but she as the only one anyone spoke out against specifically as not trusting her with the Hatchet that hangs on the far wall as a prize for whomever crawls through. I suppose I can understand Elias being a bit apprehensive about arming the young lady who threatened to murder him on our way into this place, but holding her down will only cause that resentment to fester.
The longer I spend controlling this RAMSES unit, the more I find myself thinking of it as a second skin. It feels so nice to be able to move freely, even if it's only vicariously. My legs... maybe if we make it out of here I will look into fitting myself with some robotic appendages. The brief time I spent with Izza on the shuttle to the Dalia made me realize I wasted a lot of time moping and drinking my worries away on Europa Base when I could have been sizing up some solutions. Hell, maybe if I hadn't been so obliterated all of the time I could have talked him out of sneaking on board the Dalia... or at least insisted that he drag me along with him. As it stands, after seeing those abominations I've lovingly nicknamed Jellybeans, I do not believe I will be seeing him alive again.

As for my role, I guess I should clarify before I outright leave. I am what is called a seer. I don't detect traps, but I do get to look ahead and see what the room looks like. I am given a brief description of the room, therefore I can at least look and decipher what we might be dealing with ahead. This isn't fool proof and I don't get told if a room is trapped (though based on the descriptions I might be able to guess). |
|
I checked the south west and not north, so I don't know what the north holds. But the south has a north exit (this room) and then a west exit. Going south, it would only send me farther from you guys anyway. There is no east exit. Says it's an elongated room though, but I assume that would mean going west, like so:

This is my thread.
I have an announcement and will use the yellow important colors for this.
I find out this phase I have a voice in my head. Only this voice does not say anything, so I have only silence in my head.
I try to get a response but I do not get one. I have been waiting.
I say this now so if Aipaaq cannot meet us, he will know this. I cannot help him with this yet if there is no response, but I want him to know before we split up.
I will call this voice KitKat. |
|
Here is my map! I will also post this in my thread.
|
I do not know what colors their rooms are, but the one they are in looks like a radiations trap. There is symbol on this map for radiations and also a beartrap. The up and down for them looks like a ladder on this map, so maybe it is ladder and not a elevator? I will ask on this. Also on KitKat map, the big room was made of many small room but all label the same number. I can not tell if this is special thing about room or bad map.
They also mark 3 ? rooms to the west of the big room and then a room that says MONSTER? Maybe it is a Jellybean there?
I will ask on these weird things.
I also only guess where this group is from what Elias say on the long phase. I think it all fits though. Their south door is locked when our north door is at the start.

No, not yet. KitKat does not say much. They do tell me a few roles. I will keep most of these to myself for the now because there is some questions on their end. I do not want to spread misinformation.
The most interesting fact I learn is they have person who feels pains of others, and they feel bad things on phase 3 at the start. They feel a stab pain! No one there is stab, no one here is stab. So there is someone somewhere else who gets hurt! Maybe it is the people who stay on the ship! |
|
Here is recreation of KitKat map. I use different symbols and trace over these lines. C-6527 looks like this on kitkat map but i do not know why. KitKat tells me the thing that they find in this room and it does not sound like it is actually split up like this map. I also dont know if this orange arrow is shuttle but I guess that it is. I don't know if it is working if it is shuttle.
((Also original is two images but i do not want to upload two))

Having some trouble correlating 'KitKats' map with my own.
My results so far are:
Phase 2 (B-3523) - 0 Floors Up, 2 Squares North, 0 East
Phase 3 (B-1635) - 1 Floors up, 2 Squares North, 1 Squares East
Phase 4 (B-2937) - 1 Floors Up, 4 Squares North, 0 Squares East
The count is made exclusive of the room I am in. According to my results thus far, from phase 2 we can gather that Percy's starting room was separated from ours by a whole grid square to the north.
The Phase 3 result appears to match up to the map, so no problem there. But this phase makes no sense. They are directly north of us. I place them exactly one square North of the elevator on the floor above. |
