Jeong pressed the door release on the North-Eastern door. She pointed excitedly as everybody generally ignored what she was saying and doing. With a sad expression, she walked through into the unknown.
The room beyond was elongated. There was a reddish glow to the air. She took a few steps forward quietly as suddenly she felt a sinking feeling beneath her feet.
As she raised her foot again, it was already too late. With a shriek, she tumbled down onto the floor below which was now covered in small metal spikes.
The other group members rushed through to find her laying in a bloodied heap on the spikes.
"Is she..." Lindberg started before he heard the grumbles coming from below.
Slowly, Jeong lifted herself upright. There was a lot of blood where her hands and body had been pierced by the spikes, but she was still alive. She pointed down to them miserably and shook her head. | The group noticed as their air filtration devices began to flicker to red. This meant they'd need to start keeping tabs on their usage from now on. |
