I chuckled softly to myself. Things were just getting rosier by the minute, weren't they? I hadn't even began to wrap my head around those beasts that I just bore witness to.
What determined how the two groups split, I wonder? By pure fate, or did the lists play some kinda role in it all? And how in the blue hell did Izza get left behind? Questions on top of questions.

I wouldn't be so quick to condemn Watts. He's a piss-poor captain, no mistaking it, but he's a man with the ultimate chance at redemption here. What he does with that gift is up to him, but it's not the time to judge him quite yet.
I would, however, like to hear if he has any insight on the matter.

Seeing baby Aldo grow up in front of my eyes somehow failed to surprise me. With the things we had already seen on this mission, why wouldn't a baby grow a year a day? He felt like the son I never had. The son I was too much of a coward to have. But fate had other plans.
Would I be teaching him to play ball in a couple days? Would he be acting embarrassed of my presence in a week? Would I see him with his arm wrapped 'round his soulmate in a month's time? The cat was in the cradle and the silver spoon. They grow up so fast.
A single tear rolled down my cheek as I walked over and patted Aldo on the head.

It's your decision Percival, I'm just curious why you'd back out on handing it to me when no one objected to the idea.
