Background:
Clifford was born on Ganymede, raised in an upper middle class neighbourhood. He had a good education and spent his childhood working towards becoming a teacher. With his head always in a book, Clifford was often bullied by the other kids and eventually fought back, getting himself suspended from school in the process. From this point onwards he vowed to spend his life combating injustice wherever he saw it.

He managed to learn plenty throughout his school years but was always getting into trouble, as Clifford would jump in to fight off bullies whenever he saw them picking on weaker kids. He managed to get a job teaching but found that he hated every second of it, as the kids he was teaching on Ganymede were way too disinterested and spoiled.

He moved to war-torn Io and started to teach the kids there instead. They were much more grateful but it was a dangerous planet, resulting in Clifford getting involved in political protests to try and end the war. As somebody who won't take being put down lightly, Clifford was determined to fight back against all these injustices. When he's not campaigning against the war or teaching, he's also a prominent figure in civil rights disputes.

Unfortunately his extremely busy agenda has left him estranged from his wife and kids, who were aboard the Dalia when the crew disappeared. Realising this, Clifford raced back to Europa Base and demanded to take a ship, finding himself in a dispute with officer Michael Lindberg who wouldn't let any civilians fly out. Fortunately Captain Watts was allowing civilians aboard his ship, so Clifford jumped on, hoping to find and rescue his family.
