The RAMSES unit stirs from where it had been sat since last night, its eyes lighting up once more as it stood to take in the new recruits, and some of the old.
So many new faces. One misses quite a bit when they go into hibernation. Warm greetings to the additions to the roster.

Is it particularly safe to have an android as vulnerable as RAMSES on board a high profile mission like this? |
Hey, at least this unit didn't explode into a delicious deluge of goop and bits like the other two.
The unit turned to point towards the remains of the other two RAMSES units.
If not for the vulnerabilities, and the surge, I'd never have found my window to hijack it to help out.

There is a girl here somewhere who seems to have a fascination with RAMSES robots, I believe her name was Percy. She was asking for you earlier, but I believe she's currently occupied in a game in the smoking room.
Do be warned though, the smoke might get into your circuits. |
Thank you for the heads up Morwena. I believe I will steer clear of the smoking room for now. Though it does sound like a very cool place to be.
|
Oh my friggin god! An old school robot.
*walk around Ramses and studies it*
You gotta let me upgrade you whenever we find some tools on the Dalia. Please! Please! Please!
I already got so many ideas we can add to you. We can even do like a holographic projector for you. That would be super cool. Sorry if I am being annoying I am just super stoked!
Never thought I would be around one of you guys. I thought they were all dismantled. |
The unit slowly spun in place, lagging behind Percy's own movements as she circled it.
Oh, you must be the Percy. The enthusiasm is endearing. I would be very interested in seeing what sort of physical alterations you could make to this unit.
The RAMSES extended a hand towards Percy.

*Ignores Ramses hand shake and hugs him instead*
I have so many ideas though! We can give you a utility saw, some system diagnostic ports would be good. Oh oh oh! We can add some propulsion boosters to you! Maybe even some extendable sensors. Although I don't know if that would quite work with your systems. But I guess you never know anything till you try!
|
The RAMSES pats Percy on the back of her head as it is hugged.
This unit is your blank canvas, upon which you are free to create a masterpiece. Just hands off the remote access software and settings, please.
|
Um, excuse me Percy, but I'm not sure we should enhance the bot until we know it it needs any repairs? |
RAMSES turns to face Sam.
I've run diagnostics from my side. It was a bit touch and go when I first assumed direct control, but everything seems to be working as intended now. Granted, there's no substitute for a hands-on inspection.

RAMSES milled about the quieted ship, inquisitively poking its head into each room that it passed as its controller sent it in search of the engineering and storage area to engage in some sweet, superfluous calibrations.

So many folks from Ganymede and Callisto. No one else from Lunar Base? I guess we really are in the rear-view mirror of civilization.

I am from the Lunar Base. ... Was. After what happened to my family I have no reason or want to be there. |
I'm sorry. Even without a past tragedy tied to the base I wouldn't blame you for wanting to escape it.
I guess I should say that I *was* from there as well. I jumped at any opportunity that would put distance between myself and the slums.

Everyone calm yourselves. RAMSES, administer tranquilizers. You can do this, correct? |
Affirmative. Form an orderly queue if the drinks in the smoking lounge aren't enough to calm your nerves.

Yeah I doubt that whatever the electromagnetic interfering is the work of god people relax..
Probably just some bloodthirsty pirates looking to sell our skin and machine bodyparts on the black market preventing us calling for help. |
No, this isn't the work of pirates. I can assure you of that much, at least.

RAMSES, would you be so kind as to clean the smoking room? It seems that party got a little out of hand. |
Yeah, sure. I will tidy up the smoke-filled sin den before we reach the Dalia.

The young lady seems to be speaking Korean with a curious dialect that I cannot place.
Her facial features assisted me in arriving at this conclusion.
It does seem quite inconvenient to carry on speaking a long dead language, but perhaps it is a matter of pride.

Korean? That's one of the Ancient Earth languages, right? |
Correct. Korea was an Asian territory formerly split into two smaller territories, North Korea and South Korea.
They were united in 2025 by the heroic efforts of the glorious leader and historical hero Kim Jong-un.
This concludes today's Ancient History lesson.
