Things were looking up when the X4 docked with our ship. Or so I thought. This so-called crew of professionals didn't look much more capable than our civilian crew, truth be told.
But bodies were bodies, and we'd need all the help we could get to rescue those scared, lost workers aboard the Dalia. To rescue my Starla. All things considered, these new crew members were a fresh injection of hope, hope that we already needed.
From the confused and concerned looks I was getting from them as I thought all these things, I again was brought back to the idea that they were somehow hearing everything I was thinking. Was I truly vocalizing all of this? I took a quick gulp outta my flask. They were only looks, Francis, nothing more. No evidence of anything else. I had bigger things to worry about. Like my emergency flask being nearly dry already. | | |
