This is a strange fire. Never have I seen such a slow moving flame in all of my life. It is creeping towards us slower and slower, almost at an unthinkably slow pace. Then when you think it is here, it is still at a considerable length. Are we hallucinating? What is burning?
I cannot provide any scientific explanation to this phenomenon. Perhaps the flame medium is slowing it down so considerably. It is fascinating from a scientific perspective.
Fire has always played an important role in nature. It is there to maintain ecosystems and stimulate growth. Perhaps this fire is a way for our ecosystem, the group, to be reborn as a stronger entity. Perhaps we are to rise as the phoenix.

I cannot provide any scientific explanation to this phenomenon. Perhaps the flame medium is slowing it down so considerably. It is fascinating from a scientific perspective.

I AM curious though Percival, by my map I made - I assumed the monsters would perhaps be on the shuttle - are you positive there's a room North of us, and they aren't just aboard this inactive train?
I am not sure how many room range that Percy has in sensing monsters.

As Edom points out, it's very possible that there is a room to the north of us.
Not every room will be connected with exits if they touch, sadly.
Hopefully we find some clues about the shuttle system and how to turn it on.

I do not know if the shuttle counts or not cause really we have no idea what direction it goes in.
If you do not want to but the one grid north up above us that is fine.

If we look at each new appearance (age event) as a level, is it possible Aldo is going to turn into a monster of some sort when he reaches his 6th level?

3 grids north there is a monster and 4 grids west there is a monster.
I think the maps will need to be updated then. I think the North Shuttle must GO NORTH and land at another grid.
Whether that said grid would be the one with the monster is unknown.

My honest opinion and this is just me guessing obviously is the Monster that was in the North room before decided to move up one space.
The monster from before that was West decided to follow us down south.
So one moved up and the other moved down.
Could be speculating but it is worth keeping note of their movements.
There could be a pattern they go in which would make it easier to keep track of them and avoid them if we get split up from Frederic.

Aldo's role is incredibly useful, and we don't even know the potential of his contributions yet.
In addition to trap results, Aldo would be able to inform us of any injuries, lynches, or attacks that happen mid-phase so we could be alerted to possible betrayals and be able to catch people in lies if they try to cover it up.
He also would be able to provide us with updates about how others in our group are doing if we ever get split up.
It's bullshit to leave him behind like this.

This is an elevator room, a mini hub to move level to level.
I would not be surprised if we found ourselves back here at some point.

If his body is still here on a return and we have the supplies to spare, I would fully support a revival.
I cannot revive with the medkit after the turn of which they die ends.
It's one time use, they would get my role if they were to be revived later on.
I am still curious of what set off the machine to kill Aldo.
Also Edom that is a pretty good role.
I do not know if you want to use it on this role.
But that option is completely up to you since you will have to use it the whole way.

If it was part of the room, it would have been engaged on entrance.
If it was part of the syringe, we would have seen Aldo interact with it.
Someone intentionally set it off in this room.
Whether that person is part of our group, or part of another group has yet to be determined.
I guarantee someone could have the skills to hack the turret system and fire it from another room on the ship.
That is what I am choosing to believe at this point, I do not feel like anyone from our group would attack Aldo.
While I would like to think it is not somebody in this group we can't rule out the possibility that somebody else got a different win condition when searching through the papers.
But in fairness a role such as setting off traps sounds already evil to begin with.
So I personally think it is something else on the ship that set it off.
But still super super curious!
Francis pressed the elevator release and rode down to the next level. The group would surely follow, but they were a little anxious.

He stepped out into a cold metal room that was full of sealed lockers. One of the lockers was open but empty. He also noticed the same elevator he'd just taken could be sent down another floor.

"What have we..." He stopped suddenly when he realised there was company.

Laying in the middle of the floor, face down was a familiar face, or at least familiar back of the head. It was Izza.

"There's no way..." He muttered as he crept over and shook her with his foot.

"Who's there...?" Mumbled Izza looking upwards.

"How did you...." Began Francis before being cut off again by the sound of the elevator. The rest of the group milled in.

"Izza...is that you?" Said Percy in disbelief.

Frederic stood and smirked, shaking his head. How bizarre. However the smirk was short-lived.

"Wh-what...what...." He began, pointing frantically.

The group turned to look at the child stood near the Southern exit. It was smiling up at them gleefully.

"What the hell is that?!" Shouted Sam as the thing began to slowly approach, still smiling.

The child was bright red all over, with human features save for the fact it had no ears. Occasionally, purple sparks would dance around its body as it moved. It also hovered a few inches off the floor. As it approached, the group realised it was levitating and defying gravity.

"Don't be afraid. I used to be afraid too...but that will only hold you back from what you want to see." Said the child in a haunting voice.

The group began to back away as the child hovered across the floor. It was aiming itself at Francis determinedly.

"Kid I don't know who or...what you are...but I got nothin' for ya!" Said Francis exasperatedly.

The red child looked up at Francis with a smile. It was close enough for Francis to feel its breath, but the child was not in fact breathing.

"No...I don't think you do." It said in the same melodic and haunting way, before lifting its hand gently and touching Francis' forehead.

The touch was gentle, but as if a switch had been turned off, Francis fell to the floor with a resounding thud, unconscious.

"We can play later." Said the child, turning to look at the horrified group.

And with that there was a flash of purple electricity, a whooshing sound, and the child had disappeared from sight.

But... the last part... I am so sorry about Aldo.The last room we were in was a room with a machine labeled "DEFENSE Turret." I don't know what we expected to happen.
Everyone is fine, but Jeong is hurt. Misty is crazy. I don't know what's going on with her.

Basically what happened was the child was randomly shot

with a turret, yah? No idea how your defense turret

chose Aldo.
As for the monster in the west, I feel we may want to

consider going that way for the sake of the person to

the west aswell yah? Surely the 16 of us can kill a

monster. Need not worry for wandering monsters either

yah! Just up for consideration.

I did enter the numbers, yes. I'll admit that, but it

didn't tell me what happened or that it happened to

Aldo. I didn't even know it would be Aldo nor was that

my intention. It wasn't a prompt that said "Kill Aldo

Y/N". It was just pure chance in general I thought maybe

it was 1-41 so I entered 42 thinking it would be invalid

because there was no 42nd person. I pressed it because I

thought Misty would and thought if I did, she couldn't.

It sounds like wanting to rid ourselves of misty was the

right decision. It also sounds like we got lucky with

the skills of our group. It may be that we are equipped

to avoid danger while the other groups are equipped to

kill monsters/deal with traps. Something to think about

since we have only 1 gun and 1 kit
So it means there is only one monster we are avoiding

not several....which is good. We have to read my grids I

am given as if they were map grid coordinates. So since

I got 1 up, 2 north and 2 west. We must use those as

coordinates to locate where the monster is at.
So it seems as if you are still tracking the same

monster from C level. That sucks. I should have scanned

west and not east. Do we go west anyway? Did Sam tell us

how far the solo person was?

monster scan. There may not be 4 rooms DIRECTLY in a row

west of C-6517. The ship certainly goes 4 spaces west of

C-6517 though based on Percy's scan.

D level would be UP. A level is the bottom level. Our

elevator only had a down option. We'd need to find a

The way I understand it, she hasn't denied any win condition. We have 2 conditions, if you read that research. She has a different one, and the global escape win condition. We all get to pick which we fulfill if we get the chance. If she's going to be up front I think that's helpful. The only pause is if her goal is to draw us to D deck for slaughter
I think we should not go after that other person and head to level D. The last round we just proved that the mission was bigger than one person. I believe we should stick to that. I feel bad for leaving whoever it is behind but we may waste time chasing them down.
So here are the options then...
Go West and look for the person.
Go East (trap free)
Go North (see what was in the locked room as we can enter from this side)
Go Up (try to get to D by going back up to C)
Ignore South and Down for now.

Touching on the collars, perhaps if we turn the power on then the air will filtrate naturally and we won't need the fusion cells any longer.
I think our primary goal for now should be getting the power on. Sam is right, we might can dispense with these collars if we do.
We have 3 options, each carrying a sub- option or 2:
We go look for the person Sam detected.
If we do this, Sam has to go with us so we don't lose the person.
We're almost assuredly abandoning Francis and whoever stays with him in this scenario.
Percy, Sam, Frederic and myself really need to go if we take this route (navigation of traps/monsters, medkit and person finder).
We go one north to see if anything of value is behind the locked door that was the south door in the room we started in.
We leave someone with Francis and they wait for us to return phase after next, then we go after the person or the power.
We go after the power.
If we do this, we "can" leave Sam with Francis to follow us room by room ( we may even back track into them at some point).
I don't think we leave Frederic though bc the med kit needs to stay with the larger group.

Okay so it sounds like the group is going to split up this round unless we all agree to sit here and wait for Francis. This is not good. Maybe we should split up intentionally into a few smaller groups and explore these rooms surrounding us and then make our way back up. Francis, Rin, Frederic can meet us back in the above room?
I'm okay with staying. I haven't really been vocal about my opinions because I don't feel like it's my place at the moment now that I'm the new kid on the block.
Izza can you give us a run down of your group's journey? How did you guys make it on to the ship, and then what was the sequence of events from there?

Phase 2: We started in B-4829 and had nowhere to go but up since our other options were locked.
Phase 3: We found ourselves in C-6517 with an unpowered orange shuttle and some papers. We went south.
Phase 4: I got poisoned by radiation in C-5142, but I'm better now. We went south.
Phase 5: We found a syringe that said "pain transfer" which as far as we have seen, does nothing if injected. Aldo was shot, we selfishly decided not to revive him (though I use "we" very loosely) and then headed down the elevator to here.
Forgot to say, Phase 5 was C-3904.
Also what's their general feelings towards those who were voted to get suits? Are they trying to go for the bomb out of spite, or what do you think?
Alas! As much as I would prefer to venture, I feel like splitting isn't in our best interests. However, I do think next round going up on the elevator would be a waste. We should further explore for more staircases, it does feel like a waste do keep venturing the same rounds.
Anyone who has a follow set on me from a previous phase should know that right now I'm set to follow Francis, so if you're not willing to stay behind if he doesn't wake up, please change to follow someone else.
I'm willing to try and find you guys after he wakes up if you leave, but I'm not willing to leave another person behind that we don't have to, especially since he's still alive.
Outside of waiting for Francis, I'd say our next priority should be to turn on the power so that we don't have to worry about cells anymore.
Ok enough people have said that they wanted to stay that I will stay. I do not want to do a huge split of the group. After that though then our mission full blown needs to be getting that power back on. We will just have to hope Dain and the gang are already on it also.

I am okay with waiting for Francis to wake up. However, if we're doing that I think we need to spend 2 more phases on this level and explore the immediate surrounding rooms. For all we know there is an elevator straight to D level just one room from here.
East is free of traps. There are no monsters in any of them. A small group going west is possibly worth the gamble to see if SAMs person finder person is there. North too to see what was behind that first locked door.
East presents little gamble but could be worth the explore. At the least our maps get big updates.
We'd need to leave a few trustworthy people with Francis with instructions to wait again. Then we break up into small teams and move one room each. We came back after next phase with our notes and continue the discussion in this room in phase 8.
This would take a lot of trust from everyone but is worth considering. If we've even got time to organize it. I'm leaving follow on Percy
That's what I was trying to say. We could use the large group to our advantage and get some exploring done here instead of everyone waiting. We all will meet back up. Time isn't on our side with the air filtration system being down. We would have to backtrack a lot to get back down here if we simply wait and then go up and ignore everything that's down here.
We can't wait twice in a row, though. We'd have to go down the elevator, then wait there.

Also Phase 2, we saw the Red Child for the first time when he told us to find a bomb and return it to him.
Phase 3, we went forward and Jeong walked into a pressure trap.
Phase 4, we found the elevator to Level D along with a note that said "For Power, Level D" So we took it. There was also a green shuttle.
Phase 5, This is the room with the turret. There was also a... red shuttle. I think it was red. I forgot to note that. There was also a locked door that we went through after Jeong unlocked the door. I did not exit first.

This is quite upsetting. Had we known this information earlier, we could have had Frederic use the med kit on Aldo initially, saving your more powerful revives for the rest of our expedition aboard this ship.
I thought this too immediately, however i realize that the medkit can also heal ailments or wounds that may hinder the group. I think it's best that we didn't use it.
That's a good point Frederic. I still think this is a good example of why we ALL need to be active and communicate. Even if we decided to use Watt's ability, it would have been better to have this conversation last round when the medkit option was still on the table.

If we are going to get a whole day extension again, we could coordinate limited exploring. I agree with Percy that the power is priority number 1. But if we're wasting a cell day, we should waste 2 and get our maps as best updated as possible. It's not exploring, it's mapping out our route and/or potential routes. We need all the supplies, equipment and exits we can find!

Agree with this very much, dude. I can only think of treasures being behind locked doors and being able to find the path to get behind it seems like a reward to me. There has got to be something totally radical in there, man. I honestly think coordinating a plan of different routes would be our best bet in saving those that need it and finding supplies we need, but having the time to do both. Kicking it with the whole band this whole journey would be great, but sometimes we do need to split if we're going to get as much done as possible. We're battling a lot of wickedly lame elements out there, man. A crazy Soviet child, totally uncool murders, and some jag-off group looking to bomb us to death.

That seems like a waste in fusion cells. Also somebody could easily hit a trap that way. I get what we gain out of it by updating our map. It just feels as if we lose more that way. That is just my opinion I guess.

We use one more phase worth of cells splitting up but we gain invaluable information and I feel our time is better used gaining information rather than everyone sitting here waiting for Francis to wake up.
Each movement is one phase. So lets say a group decided to go east. That phase they are using one cell. Now they must move back that is another cell. Now we are backtracking to level C....that is another cell.
But let's say perhaps we find a stash of fusion cells in one of these rooms. That's very valuable. We could go up to level C, wander around forever trying to get to level D and never come across a new stash of cells and die before we even turn the power on. Turning the power on isn't even a guarantee that we won't need fusion cells anymore. It's a theory.
If somebody gets randomly hurt too then we got to go and heal them possibly. Rin already wants to heal up Aldo. We are going to waste all our heals when we really do not need to.
It could be a theory that could be wrong and we just wasted 3 phases of cells. I get people think that is just an eh number but it really is not we need all we can get. I get what you are saying that there is a possible positive to the situation but nobody is really considering the negatives to it. I just watched you guys say yeah that is an amazing idea when it could sorta screw us.

Ch'yeah! I'm in full agreement with Sam on this. This place is totally like a labyrinth or something man, everything here is unknown and wild. I feel, like, the greater the risk, the greater the reward. Playing it safe is going to lead to a lot of people getting wiped out dude, especially with the heightened stubbornness over healing people, man! Obviously a lot of people are safe from that, but not all of us. I'd feel a lot better if we had more supplies or some sort of way to find a stash of these cells somewhere. Plus do we really want that misfit group stumbling upon a locked room that we never bothered to rummage through? Shiiiit man, I know I don't.

I understand the risks and that some may not want to take those risks. The plan I proposed has us all together in the C level room above in phase 9. The alternative has us together up there in phase 8 and wasting a cell just sitting here in phase 7. What do we gain from sitting here in phase 7?
I will say that the part of my plan that I don't like is that if we find something important or a better exit in one of these rooms then we have to move several rooms to regather everyone.
It may be best if we just take everyone but Sam and Rin and pick a direction and go. Sam and Rin can bring Francis and follow us. They'll catch up if we ever backtrack

I don't feel strongly either way, I just don't see much benefit in splitting in several groups. Some people going east makes the most sense to me because we know it's not trapped.
I don't think the locked room is that big of a draw, since we're clearly able to enter it without unlocking a door, so why should we expect anything good in there?

Why wouldn't you wait to bring him back to life when we got to his room? What if he leaves that room now before we get there. This is me assuming he is revived right now and has a chance to exit.
My guess is that he's going to be told he can't do it unless the body is in the same room with him, but yeah, if you can cancel that, it would probably be best, otherwise Aldo might just wander to his death before we can meet up with him.

Proposal: Everyone who wants to continue onward goes up the elevator. Most likely everyone but Sam, Francis, and me, but at the very least definitely Captain Rezzer and probably Old Man Trapsalot as well.
Next phase, you guys revive Aldo and head south (or west, but I think Cronkite said he had a trap-free south scan) while Francis hopefully wakes up and we possible meet with whoever is west of us, and invite them along. We go up, following you, and Sam helps us track where you guys are, and eventually we'll catch up hopefully.
Izza, can you please answer this? I don't want to condemn everyone from the rejected group as bloodthirsty murderers, but it would help to know if they're really bitter. Especially if whoever is nearby was from your group.
And also we might want to come up with some sort of code phrase to alert the group if we meet someone and have strong cause to think they're no good. Maybe certain phrases to mean "I don't trust them," "I think they're lying," or "I'm voting to lynch them."
I don't want to breed paranoia but having a system like that in place could help if we want to deal with someone without them doing something drastic in anticipation.
We can use a random phrase like "I want some apple juice"
...Or something less conspicuous, like "I can't believe it's been X phases already."

As for the other groups. If we meet others we may want to not openly discuss our actual roles like we have. Just the folks with the scans post vague details. For instance I'd say: I like the west door or I hate that west door. Percy can say she's scared of the room x by y by a direction and Sam can just tell us his favorite direction.
This is what I wanted to do in the first place and do not mind leading the way back up because I know some people have follows on me. I would like to make sure everybody is deciding to stay or go back up and not going off east as people were discussing before.
By the way, something to think about. I'm pretty sure Aldo will get the scum win condition if Watts revives him. I mean, that's not a bad thing if you feel like you can trust him not to play for it, but I am almost positive he'll get a new win condition from it.
