Background:
Garthon is a Martian, having been born and raised on the red planet. With the planet's continuing hostilities against PhoboDeima running rampant, Garthon's world was a cold and dangerous one. After his family home in the slums were attacked by militants, he found himself angry, alone and bitter. Vowing vengeance on those who did it, Garthon tracked down those responsible and slaughtered them all by hand.

This failed to give him the solace he required, and Garthon found himself trawling the Martian wastes. Feeling morally guilty over the deaths, even to those who hurt him so much, he eventually reasoned that this was the path his life was meant to take, regardless of how he felt. He became a vigilante with a great deal of hate towards the military colony of PhoboDeima.

Still, there was little he could do. His application to the military academy on Ceres was rejected after fears about the state of his mental health. Deciding that he was too good for a broken institution like the military anyway, Garthon tried his hand at mercenary work, travelling between colonies in a bid to take out criminals and scumbags. His only condition for work was that those he fought against were morally corrupt.

Eventually he found himself on board Europa Base, after learning that the crew of the Dalia had disappeared. Concerned that this was the result of militants or pirates, he signed up for the mission.
