Background:
Rin was born and raised in the slums of the Lunar Base to a single mother who loved her very much but loved narcotics even more. Like most children around her, Rin had to grow up fast and tough, and by the age of 8 was more of a caretaker for her mom than the other way around. The drugs eventually caught up with her mom, and by age 10, Rin was essentially an orphan. Forced to fend for herself, Rin charmed, scammed, and stole her way through life, and has managed to get by okay so far.

Rin is a scrappy little girl full of hypocrisies. She wants nothing more than for someone to care for her, but will push away anyone who tries to help. She holds others to a high moral standard and has a strong sense of right and wrong, but doesn't hold herself to those standards, and rationalizes it as doing what she has to to survive. She swears like a sailor but never forgets when someone calls her a name.

Rin often wonders about her father though, and sometimes daydreams about what life would be like if he was there to take care of her, or what it would be like to find and beat him for abandoning the family. While visiting Europa in the hopes of seeing the ice fishers, she came across something that would change her life forever. It was the manifest for a ship called Dalia, and there was an officer Newsome aboard the crew.

Would it be her father? Would he even have the same name? She really wasn't sure. Her mom had said he was a soldier so it was possible. She wondered how she could fly out to see for herself when she realised that they were putting together a civilian crew to fly out to Dalia. She knew they wouldn't let her on board, she was much too young. But she hadn't let anything stop her so far so she'd find a way.
