Background:
Sam is a tech-savvy young man who was born on Mars. From a young age he was always building gadgets and fixing broken down ships in the junkyard. He one day dreamed of becoming a technician aboard a huge space-ship but without the means or money, he was stuck. As a quiet, nervous guy, he was overlooked for most military jobs on his world.

When the military recruits from Ganymede came looking for somebody to join their army, he raced to volunteer. Unfortunately he was denied after failing the entry exam. Dejectedly he returned to life in the slums. This would change one day when a militant attack from PhoboDeima forced his family aboard a transport carrier to flee the planet.

The refugees traveled to Europa Base, where Sam got a low paying job fixing ships. Despite his talent, he was still unable to get a military job much to his dismay. When he saw an opening for a crew needed to fly out to the abandoned Dalia, he jumped at the chance. It seemed like it'd finally be a chance to prove himself.
