Mission Data Received.

Target Name: Dalia

Posted Image

Background:
Constructed as a hybrid scout/mining vessel, Dalia was one of seven constructed in her fleet. These ships were built in response to a change of legislation to space mining rules. Under these laws, all asteroid mining operations are first required to confirm that there are no signs of life. As of yet no extra-terrestrial life has been located that did not originate from Earth, but any new life must be studied and preserved and so all mining operations must cease.

The Dalia was commissioned by Ceres Mission Control to perform this duty.

Specifications:
The Dalia is a small-mid sized craft. Room and facilities are enough to support a crew of 200-300 persons on a day to day basis. It is equipped with full armoury, medical centre, living quarters, communal dining and kitchen units. Craft also has research and habitation decks.

In terms of Layout, the ship has five levels labelled A - E in ascending order from the base of the ship. Each room is labelled in accordance to its level e.g. C-23. Docking and Habitation are on Level B. Levels are connected by access elevators. The main ones will run in emergency power mode. There are also shuttle systems present for quick access to certain locations.

The Dalia is not designed to carry other craft, but houses escape pods which are compliant with standard safety regulations. Escape pods are located on Level A.

The ship is equipped with a fusion power plant which forms the basis of day to day electrical use. In case of failure, there is a backup solar supply for emergency use only. The ship is also equipped with full atmospheric, temperature and gravitational regulators, making space-suit use unnecessary. Space-suits are required only for de-pressurisation on docking.

Robotic drones are present throughout the craft for emergency repair operations, however manual repair equipment is available on-board. Drones are unable to operate in emergency power.

Current Status:
The current status is hard to ascertain, as transmissions are being blocked by what is assumed to be high levels of radiation. Occasional transmissions are broadcast, but the results are automated. A transmission featuring a strange and ominous shrieking noise was also recently discovered. This is probably the result of a compromised mechanical system.

Reports indicate that the vessel is now running on emergency power. Atmospheric regulators are malfunctioning, but gravitational and temperature regulators seem normal. As a result of this, full space-suit access is not required, but air filtration systems are required as high levels of ammonia were detected in the atmosphere. These are present aboard all standard transport craft and must be worn before embarking.

A number of mechanical anomalies may be present, so proceed with caution.
