Phase 51
Room 2830*
- Helm and Andrael are not the doctor: General, Sophia, or Peter is
- Helm = nilla, Andrael = lynch-stopper
- Airlea didn't kill Angela
|
The group relationship had been soured somewhat, but everybody said reluctant and feigned goodbyes in the harsh purple glow of the ominous tower. Tyrese shrugged his shoulders and walked towards the exit. He'd felt like a dead man walking for a long time now anyway. He pressed the door release and moved on into his new fate.
The room beyond was bright red. The black metal floor was lit red by the ambient lighting around the room but the red hue was disturbed slightly by the purple hue of the tower. The tower stood North of the room, beneath a large balcony. The room he was stood in was twice the width of a standard room with exits to the East and West. He walked across the black floor, hoping to catch a glimpse of more of the tower structure but the mass of stone was blocking his view to the North completely. Oh well.
As he walked over towards the Eastern exit, he paused momentarily. He was stood on the Eastern side of the room when he saw it. There was a metal door like all the other exits, but it had no door release. He placed his hands gently on it as the others started to walk into the room. He was tailed by Andrael, Boone, Brie, Helm, Marek, Maria, Rita, Lee, Urk and Walton. Just as planned. He stepped back as Boone walked over, placing a monkey paw on the door. It wouldn't budge.
"Interesting. A doooOr with no way inside." He stood and rubbed his chin as he pondered on it for a little longer.
At that moment there was a whirring noise. Tyrese turned to the Western side of the room and looked on as the floor beneath opened out. There was a red staircase leading down and a door at the bottom. The door slid open and bathed him in red light.
Then, like a flash, he was lifted from his feet. He was calling out as the light dragged him down towards the red staircase. The rest of his group gathered around and watched with Lee reaching out to take his hand but it was too late. Tyrese slid down the stairs and fell into the red light at the bottom. The door sealed shut and the floor slid closed, leaving nothing but solid black metal in it's wake.
It is now Phase 51. Phase 51 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.

I... really don't like the fact that Mark knows about the sword. I know he's been cleared, and he's been incredibly helpful but... I just can't shake my lingering distrust about him. I dunno. I guess I could pass off the sword when we meet back up but I'd really hate to part with it. :(

Phase 52
Room 8166
- locked door beyond 3439 is where Neptune is?
- Andrael is confirmed as not a voice
|
Helm approached the Eastern exit and took a deep breath before continuing. She pressed the door release, still wary of the sorcery it contained and stepped out into the great beyond.
The room she came into was twice the length of a standard room. She was stood at the Southern side, but at the Northern side was another exit East. The room was once more set upon a balcony that looked down over the floor below the tower. She was now stood on the Eastern side of it though. From this angle it was clear to see an exit to the East of the tower room and another to the North, albeit that one sealed with a lock.
And then she came face to face with a monster. It was stood in the corner of the room, clutching an enormous sword. The beast was chained to the balcony and it paced back and forth snarling and screaming. It was shaped like a man, but the face was hidden behind a monstrous cloak. The figure was big and imposing. It clutched a gigantic sword in its hand and didn't seem afraid to lash out with it.
When it saw Helm, the beast screamed out and dived forth, chains rattling behind. The chains kept it in place and it was unable to strike her. It hissed and screamed before charging back up to the balcony edge once more. She glanced over at the Eastern exit. It would be feasible to go past the beast and reach it. That shouldn't prove a problem. The chains wouldn't quite allow it to attack.
But there was something else of interest.
"Is that a chest?" Said Maria.
At the foot of the monstrosity lay a sealed wooden chest. The beast occasionally walked in front of it, snarling and lashing out.
"It is not worth it friends. That thing will surely attack." Said Lee forlornly.
"Maybe." Said Walton, not completely convinced.
"Unless somebody was really quick and stealthy. It doesn't seem to have much of an attention span."
As they looked on, the beast had already lost interest in the newcomers and was staring out at the floor beneath the balcony, snarling out as a couple of dark shade creatures went about their business below.
It is now Phase 52. Phase 52 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.
Objectives:
You can attempt to take the chest. To do so, you must create a thread in your journal entitled Chest Approach. Post ##Approach: Chest in this thread to take a step towards it. Only posts made on the minute every 10 minutes will count. For example, a post made at 4:11 will not count as a step, but one made at 4:10 will.
Whoever has taken the most valid steps at the end of the phase will claim the chest. Whoever has taken the least, will be killed. Only those who participate and make the thread will be at risk and at least two people must do so for the chest to be claimed.

Mark clambered from the pink shuttle feeling a tad disoriented. It had been a bumpy ride. They'd all got on board and waited whilst the button was pressed, not expecting the sudden jolt and burst of speed the vehicle was capable of. There was no telling how far it had traveled in the short space of time. So now he and the others were feeling worse for wear. Brittany's screaming hadn't helped. Frederick was still rubbing his ear from where she'd wailed next to him.
"Solid ground...that's...that's good." Said Mark carefully. He took a step forward and almost toppled over. Even Marek's moonshine wasn't this potent.
"We must stay focused friends." Said General Chuikov, climbing out of the seat and looking around. Somebody had written in chalk near the foot of the shuttle. It said: "34 Sh".
The room they were stood in was a standard size, with only a single exit to the North. The walls were metallic and so was the floor. It was really nothing special to look at. Kristoff walked over to the Western wall curiously. As he reached the halfway point of the room there was a purple spark from above and he stopped.
He braced himself and carried on walking. The more he walked, the more the Western wall seemed to move away from him. He had a determined look on his face as he broke into a dash, trying to reach the wall more frantically. Sparks danced all around him. The ceiling twisted and turned in a sickening display. It was dizzying, considering what they'd just gone through. Finally he rested his hand on the wall triumphantly.
But the world was now different. The wall was made of stone, for one.
He turned around with a puzzled expression and looked at his group. They were all stood in exactly the same place, looking over at him as if nothing was different. This was painful on the mind. He looked to the North and saw an exit, but the exit like everything else was now a stone door with no releases. He walked back and once more, experienced the same sensation.
Finally he sat down on the floor with his group and rubbed his head.
"I don't like this room." He announced.

Phase 53 + 54
Room 2830* (Future --> Past (traveled in phase 54))
- Sophia: "I'm a good guy" = true
|
Lee was laying there dead as....a rock. Well not quite dead but...certainly rock like in almost every respect.
"We cannot hope to, drag him along he is, too big for all of our, arms." Said Urk, striking a dramatic pose.
Helm looked towards the Western exit. It was time to move on. She stepped forward anyway. There was no telling what was going to happen with their bulky friend. She pressed the door release and moved back to the West.
Nothing had changed here. The door to the South was still shut tight and the red stairs were still exactly as they'd left them. Helm passed the time by looking down at the tower room below. Occasionally shades moved around in there. But most of the time it was empty. For his main tower, it was hardly well defended. She pondered it for a while, wondering about the strange creatures and what they represented. They were a part of a world she didn't know and would have spent her entire life not knowing.
It was a fascinating and scary thought, knowing how things had developed after she had died. Even scarier was the thought that she may die here...well after her allotted time. But no. It didn't do to dwell on such things. She let out a deep sigh and looked towards Boone and Marek over at the door.
"Is Lee still not back yet?" She asked concernedly. They shook their heads.
"May Paradiso watch over him." Said Andrael softly.

Mark moved towards the Northern exit, ignoring the abnormality to the West. It was best to stick with what they knew. He pushed the door release and moved on into the darkness.
The room beyond was pitch black, but there was enough light draining in that his eyes and the eyes of all the others could eventually become accustomed. Most of the light was coming from a device on the ceiling. It was shining out a small red glow. It was a cylindrical device attached to a metallic arm, but it didn't seem to be doing much. The rest of the group were more focused on the stench. The room smelled like death.
Mark nodded and walked over to the Western door. The body was laying there. Next to it, two chalk messages has been hastily scrawled though it was very hard to make out the letters. He could though. One read "QG lies", the other "33 S".
Brittany made a face like she was going to vommit as Dennis looked on disapprovingly. The body had rotted a fair bit. It was still recognisable though.
"The footballer." Said Dennis quietly. Mark gave a grim nod of recognition.
"Here lies Sr. Culo."
Culo's skin was rotting something foul. Maggots were writhing around on him in the dank dark squat of room.
"Let's not stay here long..." Said Hobert, holding his nose shut with a scowl.

The world shifted around Brie. A purple haze covered the glowing red and she closed her eyes. When she opened them once more, she was drifting around through a spiral of dark violet. This was starting to lose its edge a bit now so she just waited patiently for the "journey" to end. It finally did and she was stood in a room that was the same size and shape as the previous one.
The main difference was the lack of balcony. The tower that the room overlooked was gone, replaced by a solid wall to the North. The Eastern exit was gone too, and the South was now accessible. The rest of the group were slowly materialising amongst the stony ground until all eight of them were finally together. Boone stretched and wandered across the floor.
In the middle of the room was an open metal cage, now resting on the floor next to a sheet of spikes. The spikes were bloody with a small piece of what looked like flesh on them. Boone's eyes reddened at the sight and he began to snarl despite himself.
"This....this just.....makes meeeeeeEEeeee" He started, rubbing his head in frustration.
"FUCK CAGE!" He screamed out to the group at large, panting and breathing heavily once he'd let it out.
"That's much better." He said smiling.

Phase 55
Room 2223*
|
Helm walked to the South of the room, giving the cage a wide berth. She was much more comfortable in her own time. It gave her less cause for worrying thoughts. She pushed the Southern door and stepped out into the room beyond.
It was a standard size with exits to the North and South. In the middle of the floor sat an open wooden chest, completely emptied out. And to the side of it, piled up and disturbed in places was a mass of sand. Helm stared at it curiously.
"What a strange place to find this."
She ran her hands through the sand on the ground and looked at it with fascination as it trickled down between her fingers. The other seven made themselves comfortable on the makeshift dunes as they waited for their next move.

There's no way we're finishing this in 54 phases.
It would've been hard enough if we could teleport into the guardian rooms. WHICH ARE STARRED ROOMS. But we can't even do that? So now we not only have to FIND the rest of the rooms (which, thank fuck for Airlea at least, without her this would definitely be impossible) but find some way into them that's NOT teleporting and NOT just entering through a door. EVEN THOUGH THE GUARDIAN ROOM IS STARRED.
I KNOW THIS SOUNDS WHINY I'M SORRY THIS IS JUST REALLY FUCKING FRUSTRATING

Also for the record I didn't have to star the room but telling you that there's a room there in the past is probably more helpful than harmful, wouldn't you think? I could've been a dick and not starred the room and left you even more blind. I THINK IT WAS A SMALL MERCY.

Troo!
I think once we figure out how to get into the guardian rooms maybe I won't be so frustrated, but since we have no idea how to get in now it all seems pretty hopeless.
I was mostly just VENTING because after a bunch of phases waiting around and doing nothing (whether intentionally or because Brie couldn't get on to post the damn staff action) to get into that damn guardian room not being able to teleport was a huge nutkick.

Phase 56
Room 9880*
|
This room was soothing. It was where they'd all began, but even so it was so peaceful and pleasant looking. A real calm before the storm. So much had transpired since then, back when they believed it would be such an easy mission. The room stretched out in all directions. The South was still fully blocked by rockfall. No chance of an easy escape was there? She sighed and stepped beneath a waterfall.
There were two of them cascading down into small pools in the rocky floor. The lighting was gentle and smooth and the water felt refreshing. She was acutely aware of the presence of others though as she stepped aside and shook her head.
"Apologies...the water feels good..." She murmured.
Marek smiled and tried it out for himself. It did feel good.
Boone's attention was preoccupied with the swirling purple vortex. It was dancing away and unlike all the others, it didn't seem like it was about to vanish out of existence.
"That was not heeEre before." He said sagely rubbing his chin.
Two chalk messages were still fresh on the walls. They read:
"! Krstf Lies"
"4 N"

Phase 57
Room 9880* (FUTURE)
|
Helm stepped in front of the strange portal with a nervous look. Time travel was becoming an almost routine thing now but still, the unknown was always unsettling in this place. She took a deep breath and stepped into the thing.
The world around her twisted and danced. Everything turned purple and she felt a rush of pain enter into her head. That was...less than pleasant. But it didn't last very long. Suddenly she was stood in another room. It was the same size as the other one albeit a slightly different shape. Gone were the peaceful waterfalls though. She sighed. It was good while it lasted.
The future of the room was bleak and metallic. The walls were still dug away into the rock but they were coated with metal panels and supports in all directions. Up above decorative lamps dropped down from the roof. A strange sight in a place like this. High up above even those loomed the balcony. It began at the middle of the Western wall and stopped at the middle of the Northern wall. It was very hard to see above, but she could just make out the outline of a door on the Northern side of the balcony and another on the Western side.
The South was still blocked out completely. And in the middle of the floor lay the sad remains of Talion. She barely knew him. The others began to fizzle into appearance around her until all eight were stood by in the room, gazing up and around. Maria paused and looked behind her. The portal was still there. It hadn't disappeared.
And so was the chalk. Albeit very, very faded now.
