Background:
Raised in middle class suburbia, Mark was a model child. When he entered into his teens however, things changed a lot. He began to lash out at his parents, calling them oppressive and controlling and gradually became fed up with the trappings of structured society. His parents shrugged it off as a phase and hoped it would pass. It never did.

When humanity was forced underground on the day darkness took over, Mark was pleased. He wanted to be underground, it was the right place for him. His parents struggled to get by but Mark refused to become a slave to society's oppressive rules and spent his time angrily blogging instead. Even after several years of this, his stance didn't change. Every attempt to persuade him to do something productive was just met with angry backlashes. Mark was his own man and always would be.

Reason for Joining:
Although pleased with life underground, he heard about a meeting to raid the fortress above ground. He overheard his parents discussing it as a terrible idea and Mark wanted to be involved from that moment. He wants everybody to be absolutely clear that he's doing this of his own free will and he won't take orders from anybody. The more his parents tried to talk him out of it, the more he wanted to go. They were almost relieved when he walked out the door, although heartbroken at the same time.
