The kids filed off the uber rideshare like 2-3 at a time.
It was about an hour before they had all gathered. A surprisingly large number at such short notice.
This was Camp Counselor Mal's Moment!
None of these were the same as the kids he remembered from 8 years ago but how different could these kids be? He'll get in their good graces.
The little boys and girls stood looking expectantly at the authority figure before he spoke up.
"Ok Kids I know life is kind of Lame right now but we are here to have some fun at Summer Camp. Who is ready for some fun??"
At this the kids cheered. CCM smiled to himself. Like candy from the baby.
"Is there a pool? Can we swim?" One kid asked.
"Um yes there is a pool but it's been empty for about 4 years and that's not really what this camp is about." Camp Counselor Mal stated.
At this there were some groans... he had expected this but this is where he would go right. He would make them love this camp if it's the last thing he did.
"This camp is all about the Game of Mafia!" He yelled out excitedly.
There were some awkward stares and a few coughs. Mal pushed through.
"Mafia is an internet game! but this one is not on the internet. I've made the entire Hotel... err... Campsite into a fun game of Mafia!"
Still empty stares.
"Ok! This is like a game of the Informed Minority vs the Uninformed Majority... and you kill people!" Mal said excitedly.
There were a few gasps. Had he got their attention?
"Yes. Like Forknife you kill other players until your team is the last one standing. or if you are Mafia you just have to kill enough people to equal or outnumber the town!"
"And we...kill people?" One girl said uncertainly.
"Well.... technically." Mal pulled out a red bandana.
"My friend Jeff will be on a zoom call to demonstrate." Mal pulled out his phone with an uninterested 20 year old Jeff on the screen.
"This is costing you 20 dollars on my cameo I hope you know." Jeff said.
"Fine fine whatever just say the line!" Mal said through gritted teeth.
"Oh... oh men. I have been lynched by the town oh no... oh men... oh woah is me." Jeff said half-heartedly pretending to die.
Mal then placed a red handkerchief over the phone.
"And like that. He is dead! It's just pretend but oh so fun!" Mal said excitedly.
"And what other games and activities will we be playing?" One boy asked.
"um... it's just Mafia. This is Summer Camp Mafia 2, and then there was Fun" Camp Counselor Malion said matter-of-factly.
The group groaned.
"No, no not again... this will be great trust me. And to show how cool it is I've gotten you all face masks!" At this Malion pulled out, not regular covid masks but novelty halloween style face masks of various people.
"You all will be playing well known Forum Mafia players that I've met and think are super cool." Malion hands a little girl a mask and mimes her to put it on.
"Like this?" She says.
"That's right Forum Admin of FE Curtis. You look great." Malion winked.
"But my name is Sta-"
"Curtis! Everyone put on your mask and you will have to assume the identity on the mask. This is a rule! No breaking character this is a full Aliased game!" Malion yelled out... some kids seemed into it, others not so much.
"You also will even get your own rooms!" Malion pulled out a map.
The group gathered around.

"but there are 23 of us." The one wearing the Mittens mask said.
"Good eye Mitten!" Malion patted him on the back. "Yes there are 23. but before the day is done... one of you... will die!"
Malion pulled out a plastic knife.
When you are ready and think you have scum just say
##lynch
and the name of the person you want.
and if you change your mind say
##unlynch
when you get 12 votes on any person the person will die and the day will end.
Otherwise it will end at 9pmest tomorrow.
Any person lynched will have their room given to whoever wasn't able to pick a room... and if there are any unclaimed rooms they will be passed out at random.
And with that... kids... Let's Play Mafia!

I forgot to mention. Every player has an additional ability. Twice per game if you do not use any other night action you can put your ear up to the room on either side of yours. So for instance if you are in 2 you could listen to 1 or 3. And twice per game if you do this I will let you know if their door opened during the night... Either from them leaving or someone visiting them. But you will not know which just that the door was opened. So keep that in mind when picking a room.
