The end of Day 1 looks even more bizarre after some of the flips. It appears that Maddie and Mittens initially settled on a strategy of throwing Penner under the bus. But it would seem that not everybody on the mafia team was on board. Christian remained hesitant, and made this non committal post about Penner:

there's a possibility he is telling the truth with his claim even though he may be trying to out the actual doctor. But I'm not willing to throw my vote on there right now when I can't be certain.

Which to me indicates he wanted Penner to survive.

Mittens reversed direction on Penner immediately following his fake claim, something which ultimately gave him away. No idea why he did that tbh.

The way I'm looking at Day 1 right now: If Maddie had not been attacked N1, she would have gone into Day 2 looking very good. She was militant about lynching Penner at the end, so I get the impression she was not in the mood for backtracking on the decision to throw Penner under the bus.

Keeping that in mind, I thought it would be worth seeing if anyone else was unusually sure about Penner being scum. Someone who stands out is Josh. Go read his posts over the last two pages or so...he was absolutely certain about Penner being scum. At the time I figured it was something related to his role, so I put him in my town list.

Now I'm not so sure. It could easily be interpreted as him setting himself up to look good following Penner's flip, and I also think with the post I previously mentioned he was potentially trying to set up a fake claim.

I might be way off, of course. But to me it looks like some of the Mafia decided to throw Penner under the bus, in return for town cred...which backfired when Maddie was attacked the following night.

If there is another Mafioso left, and I believe there is, Josh is a good candidate.

Rodney is too, though to a lesser extent imo. I could buy him as scum with his late lynch on Penner, which came shortly after him trying to get Spin to elaborate on his counter claim. I dunno though, I still lean more town on Rod.

I believe Sami is town.

These observations are based purely on re-reading Day 1.

the only one of you i am sure is not mafia is Wikey and he could still be Farlig's partner.

Oh and I'm just assuming there is at least one more mafia member at this point. There's no way Farlig's assistant would have voluntarily held back this long if they can also kill.

I picked up on Spin's claim and I was trying to deter heat coming towards him and deflect it onto myself.
