The next game I host, I'm gonna have to have some expert check it for balance.

Do what i do. Announce that it's not balanced and that you don't care.

Then have one person who doesn't get a role until night 1/ day 2 to counter act bad luck from day 1

I do appreciate the candid posts. If I was mod I'd be freaking out my roles we useless and fuck I suck as a mod. Lol

Haha it's really not that bad. Most of it us panicking about our setup thinking we'd fucked up the balance because of the way things were playing out at a certain period of the game. We decided to self censor that part mainly. Maybe we shall open it to the public one day

We can have a drawing. One person (of my choosing) gets to read the unabridged version.

It was a combination.

I bugged Wikey for months to watch but he was offput by the title and thought it was a chick flick. So, finally, he watched, I sent him my initial list of roles, he revised/made them better. We stole the Princess Prisoner idea from KC (see Sons of Anarchy Mafia) Wikey's idea. It worked perfectly with Buttercup & Westley. We were hoping that would be more fun with the Mafia having a Prisoner and them taunting her, etc. We were also hoping he would have tried to signal Westley earlier somehow.. but given he had to signal his identity, that made it difficult.

We had to stretch out the characters/roles since the movie had limited characters. Which is why you see the dog, the horse, the random villager.. and the grandson/grandfather were given as roles, too.

We wanted to make Humperdinck really powerful due to the fact he's an expert tracker in the movie, and I was suggesting Vizzini have the WIFOM role but Wikey reminded me it was really Westley who initiated that contest in the movie, so it went to him. Otherwise, Westley may have been BP or something, in addition to Searcher, idk.

I feel like balancing games is generally pretty conplicated, because the roles are often used in ways you did not expect, At least from my experience.

No matter how much you try, the one thing that could go wrong or had not planned for, usually happens.

Did anyone else read TTs flip and realize he escaped a Miller like troll role but at the same time wish someone like spin would have had that role so we could have watched an epic bitchfest postgame?
