red wedding will probably get my vote until the finals, unless i'm forgetting something
i know it's almost like a cliche at this point but i went in with absolutely no idea it was happening, and it was easily the most shocking scene of the series, even moreso than the ned death, it just turns the show on it's head.

Mountain vs Viper > Ned's death >>> Red Wedding for me as far as SHOCK value. But I was mildly spoiled for RW since all week I was hearing/reading stuff about a "red wedding" even though I had no context beyond that. So I knew SOMETHING bad would happen

the book version of both is better, but the book version of the prologue could end up actually mattering, where as the show killed it. | | |
