Hurley's death caused the survivors on the island to gather around and mourn his loss. As they were standing there with saddened faces, they spotted Mittens heading their way with a smile on his face and a spring in his step. The people grew angry at this display of a lack of care for their loss. As they were about to grab their weapons and head over to string him up, a loud gunshot was heard. The bullet pierced through Mitten's head and he fell to the ground lifeless.
