Welcome to your final week! You have all made it as far as you can make it at this camp (well kind of), your parents would be so proud of all the hard work you have done. Even Frank would be proud! The other kids would be so jealous, I can hear little Ahoda and Christian fighting back at home.

You guys have earned it. There are no more votes, there are no more daily tasks it is all going to come down to points. I will not reveal the point totals just yet though...

Here is how this will work. There will be five challenges for you all to complete. These will all be due at Sunday at 9:00 pm EST. I am flexible if you need a little more time, but I would like this done next week so don't ask for an extension unless it is super necessary.

The winner of each challenge will earn 2500 points, second will earn 2000, and so on with fifth place earning 500 points. This is a big gap each challenge and imagine if you got hot and win a few of these challenges. You could go from 6th to 1st or 1st to 6th very quickly. THIS IS ThE FINAL WEEK BABY!

As I mentioned last week your final week will be broken up into two parts. On Sunday night, the results of these five challenges will be revealed and two people will fail to make the final set of challenges. No vote, the bottom two point totals from Week 0 to here will be eliminated.

Here are your challenges, and good luck.


Challenge One

It is a sunset slider! This is going to be a very difficult. Unlike the original slider you will not have unlimited tries. You will have one try. You will post :sunsetslider: in your Week 8 Challenge Thread and go to work. This is a very difficult 5x5 slider with no numbers so plan accordingly. Time will start when you post the code on your encounter forum and time will stop when you post the screenshot of the completed puzzle.


Challenge Two

We will play a game called Sword, Stock, and Shield. It is a classic strategy game. You will start the game with a sword and two shields. Every round you will have three options. You can use your sword and attack someone else, you can use your shield and protect yourself, or you can restock and add a shield. If you shield yourself you will block any swords used against you. Your sword is only so durable, if you take two hits of your sword on a shield your sword will break and your next "Sword" move will be grabbing a new sword instead of attacking someone. If you attack someone who also attacks you the actions will cancel out.

You will submit a list from 1-20 of different actions. If you are using the sword action list the players in order from the person you want to attack the most to the least, just in case the person you want to attack most is already out.

Round 1: Buffy attacks TIB TIB shields Curtis attacks Rose Rose restocks Nav restocks Brian shields TIB and Brian will be down to 1 shield. Nav will be at 3 shields. Curtis will eliminate Rose from the game. Buffy's sword will have a dent but TIB protected himself. Round 2: Buffy attacks TIB TIB shields Curtis restocks Nav attacks Brian Brian attacks Nav Buffy's sword breaks and TIB is now out of shields. Nav/Brian's attacks cancel out. And Curtis is up to three shields. Round 3: Buffy attacks TIB (cancelled because of broken sword) TIB attacks Buffy Curtis attacks Nav Nav restocks Brian attacks Curtis Because Buffy does not have a sword, her turn would be used to grab a new sword. TIB eliminates Buffy. Curtis eliminates Nav who is caught restocking. Brian eliminates Curtis who is busy attacking Nav.

The scoring will be determined by round survived. If two people are eliminated in the same round the tie will go to the person who has eliminated the most people in the game. If it is still tied it will go to the person with the most shields. If it is still tied it will be split 50/50 (so if its a tie for 5th, each will get 500 points).

In the example above, Curtis would get third because he eliminated two people. Nav would get fourth because he had more shields that Buffy (his last restock would count, so he would be at 4 shields to her 2).

We are only doing one round of this so it is going to be interesting if you all play it safe, or you go for the win. Try to submit this early so I can answer any questions if there is confusion.


Challenge Three

Spot the Differences! Everyones favorite game is back. There is a camp picture with 10 differences that I made in it. To post it post :differences: in your encounter thread. The player that posts all ten first will win the challenge and the 5000 points that go with it. In the event that people don't find all the differences (they aren't that hard so I don't anticipate it), try to periodically post the ones you found because that will be tiebreaker (if two people both find 9, whoever posted the 9 first would get the higher placement).

Like the slider, this is one chance so make sure you are ready when you post it.


Challenge Four

A fun flash game of keep up. It is pretty simple. In the rec room keep the ping pong ball in the air as long as possible. Post your best score that you are able to get. Highest score will win the points. If there is a tie the two people will split the points (tie between 1st and 2nd, both players will get 4500).

Challenge Five

The final challenge for Week 8 part A is a combination of the two favorite barn yard games. There will be 5 goat questions, and 5 sheep questions. You will earn 1 point for every answer you are in the majority for the Sheep questions, and 1 point for every answer in the minority you post in the goat questions. In the event of a tie, there is a 11th TB question. Person who gets closest will win.

UPDATE

It wouldn't be a week here at Big Dyl summer camp without a rule change. I have crunched the numbers and decided to nerf this weeks competition by 50%. First will be worth 2500, second will be 2000. I wanted to make sure the final week gave everyone a shot to win, however by putting the points as high as they are, made it so that the original rounds were worthless. There is still A LOT of points up for grab this round but it will be much more difficult to fully swing for the fences and go from last to first, but still possible.

I am sure this will be met with some opposition, and I get it. I am sure this is still annoying for both sides of the argument (if everyone is against it, its fair! But I want to make this game what it was intended to be. A fun summer-long camp, and this competition takes away from that.
