You press the button, and all at once, there is a loud explosive sound, and in a moment the cavern's roof opens and water begins to spill in from the in-ground pool directly above the tunnel. But it's flooding faster than you expected. It was supposed to be a controlled explosion, a small amount of water, enough to slow the three numbskulls down, but this is anything but controlled. Something must have happened when the cave started shaking, or... whatever.

It doesn't matter. What matters is, it's too much. Way, way too much.

Shit.

They could drown.

You could try to save them, but... well, there would probably be hell to pay after your big dramatic moment. And the sirens are blaring. The cops are pulling up to the house, and it's only a matter of time before they discover the massive hole in the earth.

You have to make a choice, and you have to make it fast.

What do you do?

RUN

You run. You don't even think about it, really. You just move. You may not have wanted them to be in any real danger, but you definitely don't want to be in danger yourself.

You run through the woods behind the mansion, and pull out the set of keys you swiped from Kash earlier when you took the statue. His motorcycle is sitting there, all ready to ride off. He... well, he probably won't be coming back for it.

You put on the helmet, secure your backpack in the side car next to you, and you ride.

Ruby jerks awake, spilling the beer she was holding all over herself in the process.

She looks around for the source of the noise, barely even sure where she is right now.

When she looks to her left, a man in uniform is staring into the window of her RV.


It's a cop.
