The wind howls outside as a shadowy figure slips through the open door into the packed room of the inn. They nod in your direction as your eyes meet and take position by one of the wooden pillars by the edge of the room. The door closes again and you can feel the biting cold of the outside receding to the warmth of the crackling fire. You look around you at the motley crew of cutthroats, warriors, wizards and who knows what, you have an uneasy feeling.

A sound of a throat clearing grabs your attention and you turn to look at the tall thin man in the centre of the room. He clears his throat again and speaks.
"Thank you all for signing up for the mission. There are certainly more here than we expected so we are confident that we should see a successful resolution! We need you all to accompany the trade caravan west until you reach the long road which will take you to Waterdeep. " He takes a deep breath and looks around at everyone in the room. You swear that his eyes lingered on you the longest. "it is vital that it reaches Waterdeep and it is a fairly long and arduous journey with danger along the way. We have also heard that Zhentarim spies may have infiltrated amongst you and will be doing all that they can to stop the delivery. Be aware. Trust no one and stay safe!"

He claps his hands and lets out a small barking laugh. "enjoy your rest while you can. Any pertinent information will be winging its way to you shortly and the journey will begin!"

After he leaves you head to your room to pack and get ready. As you are gathering your stuff you hear a noise and turn to see a note being pushed under your door...

I'm surprised that I actually got a role PM for two reasons.

1. I definitely did not think this game would actually occur here.

Sorry everyone. Won't be able to start tonight. I thought spin was joking around (I think everyone is joking on the internet) with his angry tantrums. I just have to make a couple of adjustments now as he actually doesn't want to play. If anyone can fill his slot then let me know.

Thanks ahoda for putting him on the list. I'll kick off tomorrow. Gives people chance to read PMs and send questions of course.
