hey! Anyone who still looks in this thread should put together a year-end list. Gogogo

mine: https://letterboxd.com/carter_sauce/list/2022-movies/

I was surprised how many I ended up getting to this year, didn't feel like that much til I was putting that together

I’ve been slacking on big movies towards the end of this year. I’ve got a list of 20 ~must see movies that I wanted to try to chip away at and only managed a few lately

Top handful that I wanna get to when I can:

Decision to Leave
Tar
The Banshees of Inisherin
The Whale
Babylon
After Yang
Aftersun
All Quiet on the Western Front
Bones and All
Broker

sooo it just got announced Letterboxd is being bought out by a private equity which I'm VERY wary about. LBxd's changes were slow but always good and never felt greedy which I feel like will likely change

on the bright(?) side there's some early rumors that the first order of business will be to add TV shows to the mix. Depending on how they incorporate/organize that it COULD be great, I've wanted a good clone for logging TV (and video games) for a while, so all the better if it's on the main app itself

TV shows being added kinda bugs me tbh, I get irrationally annoyed that some shows are included now and others aren’t, the criteria is pretty silly. All or none would be better but I kinda prefer none

I’m more excited that they teased collaborative lists recently, I’ve been wanting that for ages

I hate the idea of a billion television episodes suddenly flooding everything.

I hate the idea of a billion television episodes suddenly flooding everything.

if they just add it to the bucket alongside all the movies it'd be terrible but I HOPE they'll come up with some clean way to bifurcate the two media types

My nephew and I were talking horror movies today and what we have watched this month so far now that he's allowed to watch horror. I let him see my letterboxd account on my phone and he scrolled down further into the past and started roasting me for watching Howard the Duck and the latest Power Rangers movie.

Letterboxd social media accounts do a series called last four watched where they interview LB members at festivals and stuff and ask them for their last four. Let's do the same!

No One Will Save You: Fine. Could've/should've been way better. First stretch rips, then it goes downhill
Missing: I liked Searching more, but this had some fun/clever bits. Also some stupid bits
Hellraiser III: Lacking the vibes from the first two a bit, but still had some really great kills
Candyman: Rewatch! I think I'm gonna watch all three OG Candy..men. First one is a fun time

Overall haven't watched a ton lately, been busy. Mostly TV right now between Sopranos/Usher/X-Files
