What is a hydra game?

A Hydra game is a game of mafia where two players share an account and post under that alias for the duration of the game. You may talk with your partner (the other head of your hydra) in your private thread or on any other medium of your choosing (Discord, Skype, quick topic, pms, IRL, etc.) The host would appreciate being looped in on these discussions, but that is not absolutely necessary.


Is that the only difference from normal mafia games?

Yes, though you will quickly learn that the added element of having two different and sometimes contrasting view points in one “player” can add a new dimension to the game entirely.

Basic Game Rules

1. Be active in the game no matter what your role is. Inactive players will get replaced or killed off.
2. Do not talk about the game outside the thread, unless your roles specifically allow it.
3. Do not use exterior websites (outside of the Best Damn Mafia Forum) for anything other than researching roles in the event of a theme game.
4. Do not quote anything sent to you in a private message. Use your own words if you want to pass along the information.
5. Ask the MOD questions if anything is unclear. It is the best way to make sure you understand.
6. Have fun. It is a game, we expect courteous and mature behavior. Play to win but also play the game to enjoy it.
7. Try to post at least once in every game day phase. Days in the game can last more than 24 hours. A deadline may be set due to inactivity.
8. Do not edit the content of your posts. It is not fair if you post something that some people get to see and others don't. Breaking of this rule can result in a quick death by MOD. The MOD is allowed to edit his/her posts.
9. Keep posts about the game and do not bring in outside activity as it confuses the game.
10. NO POSTS AFTER DEATH! It just causes unneeded confusion.
11. Nights will be of a set duration announced in the night message. Any night action not received by the deadline is forfeited.
12. Vote with the double hashtag method. Lynch or vote will work. Ex: ##lynch insanepenguin02

1. Changers (Roleblock, Bus Driver, Framer, Nexus, etc.) - Resolve Immediately
1a. Bodyguard - Continuous (If protecting the Changer, Bodyguard goes first)
2. Investigators - Cop Resolves Immediately; Watchers and Trackers are Continuous
3. Recruiters - Resolve Immediately
4. Killers (a. Vigilante and Others, b. Serial Killer, c. Mafia) - Resolve Immediately
5. Healers (Doctor/Healer Resolves Immediately)
6. All Continuous Actions Resolve
