Kristoff stalked across the village as the rain hammered down from above. He was shivering but he was hopeful. He trusted Roth and he had to believe. As he stalked towards his house, he ducked into the shadows. It was surrounded by police cars. No surprise there. He'd have to try a different approach.
Dashing up the hillside towards the woodland, he paused for a moment as he reached the swing attached to the giant oak tree at the top of the hill. Blowing this way and that in the storm, it gave a horrible deathly creak. Kristoff paused and watched it blow around with a cold stare. He had to choose here and now which path to take. Father Roth's words echoed in the back of his mind as he looked down to the village below.
"We spend every day caught up in decision making and those decisions really make a difference. Which way we go, who we speak to, what we do with our very limited time. Judgement comes later."
Judgement would come...there was no escaping that. Even if he hadn't been able to control his condition, he'd made some poor choices. With his life so far, with Sarah. And now Melissa would remember her father as a monster.
Judgement was already here. People cast judgement every day. Maybe theirs didn't ultimately matter, but hers did. He sat watching the swing and sighed. Was he ready to become an afterthought? A source of terror in her development? Something that gave her nightmares for years to come? He could explain. Just one last visit. Just one chance to make it all go away. He could face judgement after his time in purgatory was done. He could walk out of the building in handcuffs safe in the knowledge that she would know forever more. That he hadn't always been a monster.
Before all this he was just a man. Joyfully pushing her on that swing.
He stood upright. He didn't feel anything off. It would be alright wouldn't it? Roth knew what he was doing. Darting through the woodlands he reached a small cave set away. He'd collected just enough supplies in here.
Smoke filled the horizon as the officers on patrol were called over.
"Forest fire! We need to clear the area!" The officer nodded as a blazing red hue filled the distance. Some of them cleared the area and ran towards the hills. The rain wasn't doing much to curtail the blaze.
Kristoff snuck from behind an alleyway and clambered over the fence into his back garden. The diversion had worked. He fumbled with his key and reached it. Turning it silently he snuck into the house. Perfect.
Just a few quick words and it'd be all over. He reached for the kitchen door handle and then hesitated for a second.
She wouldn't want to see him anyway. It was too late. His emotions were running wild and clouding his thinking. She'd scream. How could he reason with a child? The world was too black and white at that age. There were heroes and villains. And Kristoff had become a villain. He lowered his hand and walked over to the cupboard. Pulling out a bottle of whiskey he sighed. It'd been a while since he drank anything. Now was as good a time as...
He felt the twinge in his stomach.
Not now anytime but now. Glancing over to the door nervously with hands shaking he made a dash and stumbled. It was happening. It was taking control again. Roth hadn't fixed it. Roth had done nothing.
Why didn't it work? Was Roth just a fraud? Were his words just lies or delusional? Kristoff's head was a rush of emotion as he pulled the gun out of his pocket, hands shaking. He held it upright and pointed it at his head. He didn't know if he'd make it out and even if he did...what if he hurt her? There was nowhere he could run to make sure. Those officers couldn't control it. Nobody could control it. The monster had to be killed.
As his hand shook, holding the gun aloft, Kristoff hesitated. Roth had told him there was no telling what would happen. But Roth had told him he was cured. Was Roth a liar? Would doing this make it happen faster? There was no way out. No way out at all. Cradling his head in panic and fear, Kristoff glanced at the stairs. He could feel the onset rushing through him. The primal calls in his stomach. It was a matter of minutes...maybe less.
No more pain...no more....pain...
He prayed silently as he stalked up the staircase to her room. The praying seemed to disturb the beast. He could control it...a little. If he kept doing this he could fight it off just long enough. A stuffed bear lay next to her as she slumbered. Her favourite.
She lay there in peace, undisturbed by any of the world's problems. Would she find peace afterwards? There must be no judgement for children. They were exempt weren't they?
No choice. There was no choice anymore. The monster couldn't be contained and she didn't deserve to feel anymore pain. Through hazy, blood red eyes, fighting the primal demonic forces within, Kristoff silently pushed the gun forward.

The gunshot echoed through the pitch black night. The assembled group crept out of their respective buildings. The darkness was becoming more intense now. It actually seemed to be alive. Helios darted towards the assembled group.
"What the hell was that? Anybody missing?"
Various eyes glanced around at the assembled. Rito saluted with a grin, Natalie nodded weakly and Rob stood with arms crossed looking over at the others. Dutchiee and Ari were there. Bryce smiled and Jeff stood around nervously. Vespis nodded over at the others.
"Where's Dylan?" Rob asked matter of factly.
There was no sign of him. The group paused, remembering the gunshot and then looked back towards the safety of the buildings they'd just investigated.
"What the hell is going on here?" Helios snarled.
"An experiment." A familiar voice said in the distance.
Roth was stood on the path towards the church. Behind him was Kristoff, crouched on the floor and shaking. He was covered in blood.
Helios glared in a rage as he and Dutchiee marked over to the priest who was smiling.
"Is this amusing to you old man? People are dying! Explain what the hell is going out. What do you mean an experiment?"
Roth stared in silence. It was only then they noticed the gun he was brandishing.
"There was a time when people felt better than to swear at me." He said looking up reflectively.
Helios grabbed him and pinned him down as Dutchiee assisted. Rob ran over and pulled away the gun. The rest of the group milled towards him. Rito dashed across last.
"Rito has become extremely mito!!!!" He insisted. Roth stared up at the gun in silence.
"If you will Rob?" Helios said, holding his hand out as Rob passed it to him. Rob shrugged. He didn't want to do the deed right now. Helios pointed the gun at Roth's head who just stared silently.
"I'll deal with you after." Said Helios and pulled the trigger with a loud bang that shook the group. Staring down at the figure of Kristoff, gun pointed right at his face, his eyes were widened in terror.
The bullet had passed straight through the man's head. Kristoff sighed.
"It was a nice thought...but it's over. I have to live with myself...with everything forever now. Listen to Roth...please....please listen."
The group turned to Roth who shook his head. The grip on him was loosened and he stood up, dusting himself down.
"Last time you attacked him he became a feral beast and attacked. Did you think it was a smart plan? In any case that was the experiment." Said Roth. He took the gun from the hand of the unresisting Helios and walked over to Kristoff. Again he pulled the trigger with a bang.
"I thought you couldn't use a gun?" Natalie queried.
Roth smiled. "So did I. Funny the things you can do without realising it. In any case I just shot my young friend here in the face and as you can see, not a scratch on him. Strange isn't it?"
"If you'll allow me, I think I know the cause. Despite what you all may think, the shadows are closing in on us. It's a small matter of time until they mount a final attack. I know of one true safe place. Safer than the base. It's a veritable sanctuary. Nobody will be harmed inside. It's the one last true safe haven on this Earth."
"If we reach it, we can survive. I have no doubts whatsoever about it. Unfortunately, it's quite hard to get to. The good news is that en route I can help my friend here. He wants to end his life. Priests don't condone that kind of behaviour but I'm an ex-priest. So I don't give a damn. Taking him down to this place I think will ensure he can finally be put out of his misery."
Dutchiee looked over at the others. "How do we know it's not a trick. You dragged us to that base and half of us died."
Roth sighed. "You can deny it all you want," He glared at Rob "but you all know something that isn't normal is happening here tonight. You can join me once more and we can finally stop the pain and the bloodshed, or you can stay up here and die. Life is a series of choices. And this decision really will make a difference."
The group stared, perplexed. Roth glanced over at the faces and mentally counted.
"Where's Robert?" He asked curiously. Jeff turned to the others and spoke out.
"Who?" He said confusedly.
Roth stared and shook his head. "Sorry. I'm getting a bit confused in my old age. Dylan I meant. He reminded me of somebody else..."
"You didn't shoot him?" Vespis queried. Roth shook his head earnestly.
Helios glanced over at the group.
"Let's say that in light of new evidence we're suddenly willing to believe you. What do we need to do about it? Another bus ride from hell? More stupid puzzles?"
Roth shook his head. "The passage to the sanctuary is in one of the buildings you just came from. Maybe one of you even saw it. We have very little time, but there should be just long enough for you to all go back inside and collect supplies. Then, you need to head towards the passage. I don't know which one it's in..."
Dutchiee scratched his head. "Didn't you live here?"
Roth blinked. "It seems to have changed a lot since I was away..."

I'm specifically interested in what you guys might have found at the Bakery or the Supermarket. I still have the wallet, and my guess is that's supposed to be used at one of those two places.
Also, indeX obviously never showed up at the Cinema, (Dylan is presumably dead, but he didn't go there) so someone must have an idea of what went down there, as well. |

The only thing here is a door at the back with "no visible way of opening it" so I assume we need some kind of item to get it open. Apart from that there is nothing and no one here.

I went to the red building with Dutchie as planned....I'm trying to figure out, if everyone went where they were supposed to, how Vernon landed at the bank. Tbh, if he put to go "to the bakery" that wasn't an available action and he might have been brought to someplace random...
As for my location, it mentioned me looking at a garden in my flavor, but beyond that it said there are no available actions at this time. |

Alright, Vespis, you've got a lot of explaining to do. You haven't revealed what building you're at, and the update clearly says we have the option to visit another building this round. So I can obviously go to whichever building it is and get the potion.
According to the action you posted last phase, you were at the warehouse. Dylan was supposed to be there with you, and he's presumed dead at the moment.
And why is Helios there with you? Helios was supposed to go to the bakery with Vernon, so how on earth did you end up there? It's not possible that you were bussed, unless you were trying to go to the bank, and were bussed with Vernon. So either you lied about where you were going, or you killed Dylan. Either way, there's no reason on earth for me to trust you right now. |

You mentioned a vault or a locked box or something? Is it a combinational lock with numbers? Like could the numbers from the boxes earlier be the key to your box?

I did indeed lie about where I was going. I went to the Bakery. I -cannot- trust Rito, so I wanted to actually see what would happen with indeX myself, especially with my ability of not being able to die.
Also, from the beginning of the game, I've had a piece of paper with a single word on it. I didn't know where it would be used, so I've been looking for where to use the word. Seems it was a password at the Bakery. Without the password, you can't buy things at the Bakery. So unless someone else has that password, only I can buy things right now. |

And the keys....didn't someone mention at one point that Rose Nd Curtis had keys of some sort? I can't remember but I remember a mention of keys.

Ari, the flavor text on the map says that the movie has a "TWIST" in all caps. Try twisting and/or turning the reel, and see what happens.
And, Vespis, we were pretty certain that indeX was going to the cinema, not following Vernon. indeX told him to go there, so following him to the bakery was pretty freakin' counterproductive.

We already had Helios going along to protect/supervise Vernon, so even if indeX was stupid enough to show up there knowing that Vernon wasn't doing what the note told him to, and that he had backup, he'd see that you were there and do nothing. And even then, indeX would have to be a moron to show up anywhere near Vernon after Vernon publicly outed that indeX was asking him to go to the cinema. Heck, even if Helios WAS indeX, it would be kind of obvious since Vernon would either get nothing or get killed.
There was literally no way that your presence there could have done anything meaningful with regards to indeX, unless indeX was stupid enough to try going after Vernon for no reason, with Helios there to witness everything. You're not an idiot, so either you lied to us and made an unaccountably foolish move, or you're actually indeX and are trying to cover it up, or you knew that the password would work at the bakery and you're trying to make us think you did it by accident, or you're scum doing something scummy. |

I actually never even considered that Index could be one of us. I always assumed it was a 3rd party character, like Kristoff. |

| Phase will be extended an extra 24 hours. I need to extend one phase in order to have Phase 14 fall on Sunday night (which is the only time I can properly post it) and since I'm behind with actions and people still have to make moves etc. this seems a decent candidate. |

I've been really busy with school this week. Taking my ccna 4 examinations (practical and theory) and having to hand in my final project (which im project leader for) by sunday. It has been a really big headache, in fact porls delays have benefited me a lot, hence why it didnt bother me in the least (also, im fine with going slow paced in general).
Good news is, after this sunday im more or less done with uni forever B)

Apparently during phase 9, I forgot to actually post which building I was going to, and wound up at the bank.
There's nothing there except the safe, and I don't have the combination for it. Any chance that you guys found something that might be a combination while we were separated?
