In hindsight it's a show I can still appreciate for the journey rather than the destination. S6 was a pile of shit, but S1-S5 was still the most engaged I've been following any piece of media before. Most of the mysteries ended up being answered unsatisfactorily or not at all, but getting to theorize about them up to that point was a lot of fun. It's a show that wouldn't have the same effect if it was watched now because of the lack of discussion/time between episodes

the part about Darlton changing up Michael's dialogue to be more centered around finding Walt certainly...explains some things. His concerns seemed valid but they maaay have overcorrected in that case (:
