One suggestion to fix the cult being OP thing:

Limit the number of members they can have at any one time. If you had limited Cult to, say, a max of 4 members, it would have worked a bit better, from a balanced point of view. Once they get to 4, they can't recruit again until one is killed.

Town could also potentially lynch cult at any point before the end of the game. Or mafia could target cult.

Thanks I will take that under advisement, BFF. Seriously, though, I like the idea of forcing Cult to make a kill. I was hungrrrrry for a cult kill lol.

I like all these suggestions. You guys were kind of my guinea pigs and I tried reallly hard to make it fair. I adjusted things with both Mafia and Town to keep them powerful. Mafia kind of got unlucky and so did town with all the early PR kills.

At that point, cult hadn't flipped. As I said in our side board, I was trying to be the PF for the town council that didn't exist.

I thought about the riskiness of it, but thought it was balanced by the potential benefit.

For cult, as I said in the other thread, I tend to limit the recruiter/backup so that they die if they recruit the unrecruitable. I also don't tend to make them bullet proof.

My most limited cult "recruiter" was Cthulhu, who recruited anyone who visited him automatically, regardless of alignment. "Visit" didn't include watchers and stuff like that. When a mafia person got "recruited", the rest of the mafia board knew that the player was no longer with them and what they were going to do, so it outted Cthulhu to them. Then they had to decide what to do with the info.
