The air was crisp and the gymnasium was filled with citizens of mixed emotions. It had been exactly one year since Leslie Knope was elected into office and soon a good ole fashion public forum will start to discuss how Councilwoman Knope has made Pawnee a better place to live.
Obesity in the town was down, unemployment was at a new low, and the raccoon infestation of Ramsett Park was under control. For the first time in 50 years, people in the park outnumbered the amount of raccoons.
As the public forum started, Ms. Knope and her staff of the Parks & Recreation department were delighted to hear citizen after citizen thank her for her doings but the mood quickly shifted. The citizens got louder and louder and not in the good way, they were angry.
"How dare you put a sugar tax on sodas! Stop telling me how to live my life!" a large set man yelled.
"You made Lot 48 into a public park when it would have been a Paunch Burger location. Now if I want to go to work, I'm 20 minutes late. 10 minutes to the Paunch Burger and 10 minutes home. I work from home." another citizen spoke with detest.
"Can't you just not go to Paunch Burger for breakfast?" a puzzled Ms. Knope asked.
"No! and $#@$ you for suggesting that!"
The mob grew louder and louder and in a flash, the lights cut out. It was pitch black except for the glow in the dark posters all around the gymnasium with the saying: "RECALL KNOPE!" The mob took notice and chanted it, growing louder and louder. The people were angry.
If Pawnee was going to have a future, Leslie Knope must NOT be recalled.
