A surgical residency is all about training for the worst. But as prepared as we might be, we usually don’t see disaster coming. We can try to envision the worst case scenario, to foresee catastrophe. But when true disaster strikes, it often comes out of nowhere. And when the worst really does happen, we find ourselves completely blindsided.

He was rushing around the hospital. So many things to do... so many people to check up on! Unfortunately, people shied away from him these days. Must be because of his power. Oh well, he had ways of finding out what he wanted... no... what he needed to know.
He walked down to the doctor's lounge to see who was around. Unfortunately, nobody. Oh well, time to go home!
He grabbed his coat and turned the lights off to the lounge. Oh wait, better use the doctor's washroom before the drive home! Traffic in Seattle was a nightmare!
Okay, all done! He walked back out and noticed the door of the doctor's lounge was propped open. Hmmm, did he leave it like that? Probably - it had been a long day and he was very tired. He walked to the door and grabbed it to close it and head into the hall...
But just then he felt arms grabbing him, pulling him back into the room. He whirled around to face the offender.
"Oh, it's you! What are you doing?"
That was the last thing he said as he felt a sharp pain in his chest.

Rarely do you get challenged or messed with but, when you do... watch out! You are short in stature but you have a big bite! As Chief of Surgery, you make it your business to know of the comings and goings at the hospital. Unfortunately, most of your staff is afraid of you and are not so quick to volunteer information.
Each night you may choose a person and will find out if any actions were performed on that person, but not by who or what the actions were. You may not choose the same person on back to back nights. You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

He had been pretty shaken up the past few days with the mysterious deaths at Seattle Grace. Yes, he had a job to do, and felt an obligation to try to keep people calm, but it was hard. This was personal for him.
He had just finished a very complicated surgery and was heading out of the OR. Success felt really good. At least he had that to hang onto.
The halls were pretty empty and he walked down a corridor toward his office. Wanting nothing more than to grab his car keys and head home for the night. Maybe a drink before bed. That would take the edge off.
As he rounded a corner, and came face to face with ...
"Hello." he offered.
He was met with a blank stare and a gun pointed at his head...
... he would never have that drink.

You were married to April Kepner but the marriage didn't last. Given your status as Chairman of the hospital board, you are a tad bit self-important and feel everyone should know who you are.
Each night you may visit a player and tell them you are town. You will feel very satisfied. You win when all threats to town are eliminated.

Why do bad things happen to good people? We ask that question so often it’s become a cliché. But that’s because bad things do happen to good people, constantly. You just have to hope when it’s your turn, you’ll know what to do, how to cope, how to persevere. But the truth is, you don’t know how you will react to a worst case scenario. None of us do, not until it happens.
