shadow i get your point, but there are countless number of aesthetic changes that have been done with characters from comics to the screen and the only one you're complaining about is the race change because it's clearly the most glaring. you didn't even notice that sue storm's hair was different...or that she looks COMPLETELY different, but you noticed the race change quite quickly. Both are easily identifiable.
i am not as much of a comic enthusiast as you, but i do know that there are changes in the characters' appearances all the time. i was enthralled with that justice league show as a teenager, and the idea of the Green Lantern not being black was strange to me when that shitty Ryan Reynolds movie came out. if they came out with a good green lantern movie where the guy isn't black, i i don't see how it would alter my experience whatsoever- which is why I'm having a hard time understanding your POV. When new comics come out, or adaptions, I feel like it's about creating a new experience for a new generation and honoring how Marvel or DC has set up the character in the past.
You're talking like these characters are your characters, and that you deserve an authentic retelling of them down to the bare wire- but there are so many variations of these characters that your authentic Johnny Storm is not always going to be consistent with someone else's.
I am really hoping that this movie does turn out good. It looks creative, and the visuals in the trailer were quite stunning considering how they're not far along in the CGI process.
I've seen a lot of people compare this situation to the Spiderman movies, but the original two Spiderman movies were amazing for their time, and while I think Andrew Garfield is an outstanding Spiderman, there was no real way to make that franchise better.
The Fantastic Four movies that came out in the 2000s are fun, but there's a lot of ways to improve them. The dialogue was cheesy, Jessica Alba's hair was ridiculous, and I think Marvel is getting a little stagnant with their content- I'd like to see them have some competition with their own product.
I also think that the four actors they've selected are all fantastic, and if any of you have seen Rise of the POTA- the villain in this movie is the same actor who played Koba. He was in RocknRolla too and was really awesome.
you can not compare the walking dead to marvel comics that have been around like 50 years
they also don't share the same fame. walking dead became relevant due to the tv show
I'm 43 and been in love with Spiderman since I was a little girl, and I hope Donald Glover gets the part <3 Race means nothing, it's all about the story and the acting.
I know I'm late to the convo, just saw this lmfao
