The apple tree was just an apple tree.
Nothing out of the ordinary to see.
But Hankerton49 was in love
When he spotted the tree from above.

Hank came from a planet far out in the sky
Further than you'd see with the naked eye.
He took his spaceship out for a ride
to look for an intergalactic bride.

He'd never been to the planet Earth,
But decided to check out it's worth.
And he's glad he did because he found
what he was looking for on the ground.

There were trees where he came from,
But ugly and they made him feel glum.
Admiring this tree's beauty in the sun,
he knew it was most certainly the one.

"I love you," he said. "More than all the other trees."
In reply its leaves danced in the breeze.
This made Hank the happiest alien you'd ever see,
If you were lucky enough, as one boy would be.

This is the story of Hank and his tree
And little Benjamin Bradley Magee.
Alien and boy would fast become friends,
but that is not how this story ends.

CHAPTER TWO

A boy named Benjamin Bradley Magee
was 9 years old and in Grade 3.
It was after school, he went out to play
And he'll never ever forget this day.

Standing there by his apple tree,
a small purple thing from what he could see.
The boy watched Hank as he stood by,
the tree's reflection in the alien's eye.

Both of them were in such awe
That neither noticed or even saw
A branch that broke and an apple drop
That knocked Hank out, with a bop and a flop.

At first he wanted to run away,
but then Magee decided to stay.
He ran over to see if Hank was alright,
And when he awoke, took him in for the night.

Magee hid Hank from his parents, you see
For they would surely freak and disagree
with keeping an alien under their roof.
He knew Hank was harmless, but had no proof.

Hank slipped out and made his way to be
in the backyard with his love, the apple tree.
With his arms around its trunk, and all his might
He lifted it straight up, and then took flight!

CHAPTER THREE

Benjamin Bradly Magee was concerned
You can't keep an alien confined, he had learned.
He awoke to his parents talking about
the hole in their yard where their tree was yanked out.

"This is crazy!" they shouted. "This is insane!"
"What could a tree thief possibly gain?"
Well, a tree of course, but they'd lost all their senses
as Mrs. Magee peered over the fences.

All of the trees in all of the yards
had been stolen; the owners had let down their guards.
Benjamin Bradley Magee knew the truth
And his parents had just now spotted the youth.

"Isn't this wild?" they asked in disbelief.
No tree part was left, not even a leaf.
Magee just smiled and said, "It was Hank."
His parents just stared, their expressions blank.

"Hank?" they asked. "Just what do you mean?
Surely whoever did this used a machine."
"My friend Hank, a little purple guy
who came from somewhere far in the sky."

An alien he had told them, they didn't believe it.
They sent him to school and told him to leave it
to the grown-ups to ponder and figure out,
And they had when they saw the thief running about.

CHAPTER FOUR

"He was right," they both said. "Our son did not lie.
It was a purple creature that came from the sky."
Mr. Magee picked up a rake, and the Mrs. shrieked
Now all the neighbours' interests had been piqued.

"What in tarnation is going on over there?"
It was Old Man Goodwin, who soon became aware
of the little purple alien running around,
emitting a loud, frightening hissing sound.

Mr. Magee swung at Hank, but he missed.
Surely the little guy would be pissed.
He stared the man down, and let out a growl
Then bit off his face, as Magee let out a howl.

His wife nearly fainted, but kept her composure
She had to do something --- she'd make an enclosure
to trap the violent creature and then call the feds
before it had had all of their heads.

But Hank was too fast, he knew what was in store.
He'd be sure to make quick work of this whore.
He leapt onto her head and gouged out her eyes.
Goodwin sprang into action when he heard the cries.

But he was no match for Hank and his claws,
who tore Goodwin to bits without even a pause.
He had only come back to say bye to his friend,
And now 3 nasty humans had met their end.

CHAPTER FIVE

Benjamin Bradley Magee, home from school,
found both his parents in a bloody pool.
And Hank was there, awaiting his return,
smiling, seemingly of no concern.

"What did you do?!?" Magee had shouted.
He thought Hank was harmless; he should have doubted.
None of this would have occured if he had
Now all this tragedy made him feel sad.

Hank was confused as Benjamin cried.
He only wanted him to meet his new bride.
"I hate you!" he sobbed. "You're a bad thing!"
As little Magee wound up for a swing.

This time Hank froze, he wasn't prepared
In fact he was more than a little bit scared.
He'd hurt his new friend, he was now aware
This whole visit to Earth has been a nightmare.

Magee clocked him one, square in the snout.
This knocked Hankerton49 right the f#%k out.
The boy proceeded to whack him with the rake.
Just then his backyard began to shake.

He looked up in the sky and to his surprise
saw a whole bunch of trees, would this be his demise?
One by one, they flew down and were grounded
and soon the boy found that he was surrounded.

CHAPTER SIX

He was trapped, Magee knew that for certain
But at least Hankerton49 was hurtin'
And could do him no harm for the time being
But he better get out fast, for his own wellbeing.

Just then the trees, they started to talk
"You're bad," said one as it picked up a rock!
Magee's eyes were wide as he watched the tree throw it
He certainly was scared, but he didn't want to show it.

He jumped out of the way as the rock flew by
He had to escape, or soon he would die.
This army of trees came to Hank's defense,
His wife and her family? It only made sense.

Magee wished there was a way this could all be undone.
He needed a miracle, and soon he would have one.
A crack of lightening then lit up the sky
And he noticed the trees all began to fry.

One by one, they were toast and they vanished
It was better than them just being banished
This way they could never come back to confront him
He just wished his parents were here to hug him.

Hank awoke in the rain and saw the boy crying
Inside, the alien just felt like dying
What could he do to make things better?
He asked himself, sitting there, getting wetter.

(Yes, I know...some of the rhymes were a little iffy. :P)

CHAPTER SEVEN

"Oh my god! The trees are attacking!"
Snarky the Sharkie said as the sky began crackling.
The new sharks in town were trouble galore,
But they were nothing like what happened next door.

At least with JackieDum you knew what you'd get
But this alien brat was a new kind of threat.
Did it really just kill all of those peeps?
Just thinking about it gave her the creeps.

tit salad came running to see what was the matter,
Almost tripped on this head Posted Image, which sat on a platter.
"Phew! That was close! I almost ruined dinner.
Then again, I could stand to look a bit thinner."

"Mom!" Snarky shouted. "You wouldn't believe it!
This things's killed them all, every last bit!"
tit salad saw, but couldn't believe her eyes.
as lightning lit up the St. Sharkalous skies.

Just then a tree went crashing through their car.
Now they'd surely not get very far.
But it answered a question that was on her mind
As she stared through the slits in her window blind.

Maybe JackieDum didn't kill her family,
a tree caused the explosion of their RV.

This phenomenon gave her new perspectives...
Mystery solved, no need for detectives.

CHAPTER EIGHT

Where Hank is from, there is a way
to make all bad things go away
As if they never happened at all
He just needed to make the call.

He went to his ship and picked up the phone
After this was done, he'd be all alone
But it would put things back the way they were
And this is what everyone would prefer.

And so it was done, and before he could say
that Little Magee was to restart his day
Hank was gone, and so was his ship
as if he'd never made this trip.

And Mr. and Mrs. Magee were okay
along with Old Man Goodwin, by the way.
And Benjamin Bradley Magee was at school
learning some new grammatical rule.

Back on his home, Hank was getting prepared
to look for a wife, which he had declared.
He hopped in his ship to go for a ride
but opted to stay on his planet's west side.

And in the backyard of the Magees
Dancing about in the spring breeze,
was a tree that was just an apple tree.
Nothing out of the ordinary to see.
