It had been a busy night at work tonight. Also very chaotic with the robbery and all.

He couldn't wait to get home to rest his aching feet.

He walked toward the usual subway stop. It was very late and the streets were almost empty. A little eerie. He still took the short cut through the alley.

He was almost through to the sidewalk when something in his peripheral vision caught his eye. He turned his head to look but there was nothing. He shook it off, but walked faster.

He was just passing under the fire escape, just a few more steps... when someone jumped from that fire escape and landed right in front of him!! He recognized the face and and was about to smile but something stopped him. The face twisted into a grin that made him shiver.

"Hello," said the person. "How are you this evening?"

"I'm fine, fine. I'm uh, I'm just in a hurry. H-have a good night!" He hurriedly said and tried to pass by but when he did an arm flung out in front of him, stopping him.

"Oh don't hurry off, what's your rush?" They asked menacingly.

He tried to get past the arm which was blocking him but now the person's whole body was in front of him and both arms were raising up. Toward his neck.

He felt the strong hands around his throat, and pain, and he soon lost consciousness. Thankfully.

After a few minutes the hands let his limp body drop to the ground, then walked out of the alley, whistling.
